Something Amazing...

Yesterday I did something amazing, well according to the adverts I did anyway, I donated some of my blood.

My Blood Group is O Neg, and according to the National Blood Service , they need my blood group more than others, as anybody can receive my blood. It can be used in emergencies when the recipients blood group is unknown and also during operations (mainly for unborn children) and to supplement shortages of other blood groups.

They reckon that as only 7% of the people in the UK have O neg blood group, they need other O Neg donors to come forward. But even if your not O neg, they still need and want your blood donations!

Now I wouldn't usually mention that I am a Blood Donor, as its my business and no-one elses, however, for whatever reason they are suffering shortages of all groups. So if you were or fancy the idea of being a Blood Donor. Please, Please contact them on the above link and help make a difference!

The procedure really is painless and benefits the whole of the UK's NHS, who without these donation's would struggle to meet demands.

My reasons for giving are twofold, one is to pay back to the system for saving my mums life, when I was about 6 years old, she received about 12 units of blood whilst hemorrhaging after childbirth and without those past blood donors she would be dead!

Secondly, I like the idea of helping, I am in no way rich or well off so cannot really afford to donate a lot of money. All I have is my blood and I give it freely and as often as I can, as my way of helping those who need it and as I have already said to pay back a debt of gratitude for my mothers life.

To those donors go my heartfelt thanks and I and my siblings are forever in your debt, THANK YOU who ever you are!

So come on people PLEASE get to your doctors, check out your blood group and get donating, I promise its not painful at all, its slightly daunting the first time but the staff are fantastic and will help and advice in anyway they can.

Just by giving your blood you can and will make a difference!

Years ago, my grandmother had a Poodle, which was a really fucking neurotic dog! She and my grandfather were both shit scared of the bugger. It's name was Pepe, suppose that's enough reason for any dog to be neurotic, but what the hey.

Anyhow, this dog, kind of ruled the roost, anything on the floor was the dogs, unless you could entice the bugger into another room you dare not pick anything up.

As they lived on the Fylde coast, we as kids would go for one week of the summer holidays, giving mum and dad a break, as well as saving them monies on family hols. For some reason all six of us went one year, mum, dad, two lads and two girls.

We had all at some point managed to escape being bitten by Pepe, but from day one the mutt resented our presence in his domain. I dropped a 10 pence piece bent to pick it up and the dog had my ring finger in its sharp teeth. (I still have the scars 30+ years later)

Two days later it had my little brother's arm when he bent to pick up a tennis ball, no punishment was given to the dog other than shouting at it, and kids being kids, we hated the fucking dog with a vengeance, although I stress we did not wind the mutt up in anyway at all. We, as kids do tended to stay clear of the bugger.

The final straw came as my youngest sister, was about 9 months old, unable to walk, sat in one of those baby strollers. We were eating butties in the dining room, (grandma was posh she had a proper dining room) whilst Leeanne, the youngest member of the family was in her stroller, the ones with the little table on the front.

The dog for no reason that we can work out, decided to bite Leeanne, narrowly missing her eye and causing a severe cut to her eyebrow, and as I assume most people know, babies bleed a lot so there were copious amount of claret everywhere.

This was the final straw for my dad, who bundled all the kids into the car with my mother, went back into the bungalow and beat the shit out of the dog, to our immense pleasure we could hear the yelps from the car.

From then on no-one ever had a problem with the dog biting anyone again. My grandad on his return was told the tale and merely commented thank god, its about time that little bugger had a good hiding. When my dad asked what he did if the dog bit him, my grandad replied give the bugger half a crown to let go!

In hindsight I can see the fault lay with my grandparents over the dogs behaviour, but had it been me, the fucker would have been killed after the first time!

My first fall out with my parents in law was caused by a cat, the cat is called Toby, and again rules the roost. I had been stroking the cat, which he seemed OK with, eyes closed, purring etc, when without warning he lashed out cutting my finger with his claws. Then the little bugger legged it, the PiL's then said that he was fond of bloodsports and that they were always careful and wary of his moods! I said then, well the bugger had better be wary of me then, as the next time he draws blood from me, he will have either a headache from the punch to the head or arse ache from the boot to his arse! The mood in the room dropped by 10 degrees, but I did not apologise.

If people accept this behaviour from their pets, then that helps them to accept bad behaviour from other humans. Surely it isn't to much for a pet to be taught from day one not to bite or scratch?

The last few months have been rather intense, for every one on this little island that we call home. Many changes are taking place, some forced upon us and others way beyond our scope to change.

Is the UK finished? No I don't think so, I like to believe that eventually my fellow English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish brethren will finally wake up and realise what is happening to our once great nation.

I believe that the Labour Party after losing the next election will exist only as a minor party much like the Lib Dems do now. The Lib Dems will raise their ballgame and take the place as the second party, leaving the way for either UKIP or the BNP to take the fight to labour for the remaining votes.

I believe that the next five years will be about British recognition of what has gone on before, we will as a nation revisit our triumphs and our spectacular own goals. The EU will be left to sail without British money, as we learn to draw in our horns, and start to look after our own once again. This will not be without rancour and conflict, as everyone knows the EU is willing to fight for its own survival, but ultimately we will prevail!

Multiculturalism will remain for some time, but once the message gets through that we as a people cannot be changed by subterfuge, nor by coercion, the end game will come. We the indigenous population will still welcome other peoples and other religions, but without the fear of offending them that was foisted onto us by the PC brigade.

Some small repatriation with regards to the Iraq war, which we were taken into illegally, will have to be made, but Bliar and Brown in the dock will be a lovely sight to see!

I am saddened by the knowledge that the UK banks will not change their ways, and they will have to be reigned in once again, and this time taught a real lesson.

The same must be said of our MP's, all of whom should be horsewhipped and ran naked through the streets, they need an abject lesson in who they serve, and what they can and cannot do.

The message that Man Made Global Warming was and is a smoke screen for a far greater menace stalking this world, will finally be released to a stunned public!

At the end we will all see the more things change the more they stay the same.

New Blog Look....

Oooerrrr kind of weird, at first, this new look. After an hour or so staring at it before daring to enter, and over all I think its very me!

The Missis has had a new blog designed by her old T'interweb buddy Gemmak and decided that my blog could do with an update as well, and ... I really do like it, more to the point so does the missis.

Anyway just a brief but heartfelt thanks to Gemmak of Gemmak Designs, who completed the new look painlessly (for me) and very quickly, a link to her blog is included in my side bar should anyone care to peruse, her funny, frank and honest blog.

Fly the EU Flag... No thanks...

Seems some councillors have started to see sense, not all of them of course, but one in particular springs to mind.

Step forward Mr Tony Austin a Tory councillor from Canterbury. Who upon the Executive Committee receiving "guidelines" from the Dept of Culture, Media and Sport, which suggested Canterbury fly the EU flag 19 times per year, made the comment that "As many council services were contracted out, it would cost about £30.00 per time to fly the EU flag in various locations throughout the city". He also stated "To be honest I'm not that happy about flying it at all. I am sceptical about the advantages of being in Europe."

The council voted just to fly the EU flag on Europe day 9th May!

Well well even the councillors are learning that people just don't want the EU.

Well done the Exec Committee of Canterbury City Council, at the next vote try and get a not fly at all motion!

Bin Battle II ....

Following on from a recent post, now residents in Huddersfield have taken up t' gauntlet with the local refuse collection company.

After a recent strike by the bin men when no refuse was collected from their street, the residents in a "spur of the moment" action, formed a human ring round the refuse truck after the bin operatives refused to take the old rubbish. The rubbish had been in situ since the strike, and had not been collected and the binmen were going to leave about eight sacks of rubbish, until the residents put a stop to their getaway.

It is disheartening for normal council tax payer to be forced into this sort of action, just to get services that they are paying and have paid for. The councils line given by an un-named spokesman, said "This minor incident was quickly resolved in line with what we would expect of our collection crews. "
"All the refuse was collected. We always respond to any calls we receive from householders."

This blatantly is not true otherwise why were these residents forced to take matters into their own hands. The councils action for me is akin to the governments policy of "move along there, nothing to see".

Well done the residents of Huddersfield, the fight back just might be starting in earnest.

Ever like me wondered with the rise in prices of recycled materials, such as cardboard, paper, glass and metals, that our councils aren't raking in millions of pounds in profits?

Well apparently the answer is because they have entered into contracts with recycling companies, all well and good you say, but the kicker is that some of these contracts are for 25 years in length!

Now I understand that councils have to go for what is achievable, without putting to much of a drain on the public purse, but I ask you, 25 year contracts, which idiot signed off on these contracts. Don't get me wrong I understand that some of these companies need to guarantee an income, but surely common sense would dictate that contracts should be for a few years and then up for renewal!

If one parliament cannot tie the following parliament, surely this must be true of the councils. One Council should not be able to bind its successors, so the contracts should be able to be renegotiated, at a more favourable rate than at present for the councils concerned.

In lancashire the county council have a metal collecting service for all lancashire residents, you phone the contact number, they then come and pick up free of charge any metal waste. I used this service recently when getting rid of an old filing cabinet. The company was council owned and arrived within the stated timescale. I asked the operator of the vehicle how they (the council) were able to do it for free and was told, that the rise in price for scrap had shot up from £80.00 per tonne to over £200.00. Which made it worthwhile for the council to do its own metal collection and also to do it for free.

Now if I am honest I really don't expect Lancashire County Council to continue the service for free ad infinitum, but at least they are making inroads in providing a free service that earns much more than it costs to run.

I admit I had thought no more about it until an article in the Express today (article not available online) reminded me, but it does go to show that some councils do try to do their bit.

Now can only hope that the profits made will go into reducing the Council Tax bills, but I won't hold my breath.

But it would be interesting to find out how much companies who collect the recycling on the councils behalf are actually making out of all this rubbish!

Bin battle won? So onto the war...

In today's Express, a piece about "bin" victor Roger Houlker, a 56 year old solicitor from Congleton in Cheshire caught my eye.

It seems that the solicitor took his local council to the Local Government ombudsman, for their failure to either issue his family with a second wheelie bin, or collect extra bags of rubbish he left beside his full bin.

The ombudsman Anne Seex, ruled in his favour and found the council guilty of "maladministration with injustice", she also voiced her concerns that though the council had the right to limit the number of bins it issued, she had reservations about whether the councils binmen could refuse to take extra bags.

Could it be at last we are seeing a resurgence of common sense in councils dealings with its customers, ie, the taxpayers? For far too long it appears that all councils actions have been contrary to what the taxpayers wanted or needed or even expected.

One small battle won in the war of the bins, which council will be next to fall!

Thank you Mr Houlker for refusing to lie down and take the proverbial rogering that councils wish to inflict on us all, well done that man!

Global Warming

Now I class myself as a man made global warming sceptic, I am not stupid enough to state categorically that there is no such thing as climate change, as quite obviously there is, the seasons in the UK, spring summer, autumn and winter. These seasons show me that there are seasonal climate changes, therefore I must accept that the climate does change.

I was also taught at school about the ice ages that the planet we all inhabit has gone through over past millenia, thereby showing that the planets climate as a whole is constantly evolving. Through geological studies we know that at some times in the past the UK has been under ice, under the sea, a desert and had a tropical climate. So more proof, were it needed, that the worlds climate does indeed change.

What I am unsure about is the "man made" tag that has been added on, which states that man has and is continuing to affect the worlds climate.

Now being 40+ years of age, I can just about remember smog in Lancashire. Smog being a mix of smoke and fog, from which due to the heavy industries in the North West we suffered along with other industrial areas in the UK. In order to rid the areas of this problem the powers that be, made whole towns and cities smokeless zones. This improvement started with the Clean Air Act in the late 50's, which succeeded over a period of time in getting rid of the problem. We now do not have the problem of smog.

That is not to say that the air quality is as good as it could be, but shows that improvements can be made which benefit all but which don't cost the earth.

As an aside, the local pub that I frequent had installed prior to the smoking ban, a top of the range air cleaning system, which when tested with smokers on site, cleaned the air so well that you noticed a marked drop in air quality when going outside.

Anyway, I can accept that as with the smog problem, man may cause some problems in the atmosphere. What I find hard to believe is that they can tie it down to one specific gas, namely CO2.

At school I was taught that all living animals breath in oxygen and exhale CO2, the only life on the planet that did it differently was plant life, they absorb by various means the CO2 and as a by-product give off oxygen in the process.

So I am informed by the BBC, the government, the greens and the IPCC that CO2 is a greenhouse gas, that its production is increasing the warmth of the planet, and promising dire consequences if mankind does not seriously cut its CO2 production!

Notwithstanding that the UK on average produces about 2% of the worlds total of CO2 gases, which means should we stop producing any CO2 at all, the benefit to the planet would be negligable! Plus given the rise in India and China and their CO2 production any gains made, would be cancelled out within months if not weeks!

Now correct me if I am wrong but these same august bodies promised in the 70's that the earth was cooling down and that we were heading into a minor ice age? Yet 30+ years later and its exactly the opposite! Not very consistent are they, however they do remind me off the catholic church and its assertion that the earth was the centre of the universe, they even put under house arrest one poor bloke for daring to question this belief!

If the threat of man made global warming was and is so serious, then why the fuck are people like Al Gore, the UK's Prime Minister and his cabinet, the USA's President and all the worlds leaders so bloody fond of flying around the planet?

These days of Broadband, Video links etc, they don't really need to set foot out of their respective countries. Or could it be more simply, that as with communism, all are equal, but some more equal than others.

Ultimately as far as I am concerned they have not proved their case, and whilst we have world leaders telling me "to do as I say, not as I do", I shall remain a sceptic and as such am more than willing to wear the badge of a man made climate change heretic.

Winds of Change

The times we are told are changing, maybe its true, it certainly seems that as Incapability Brown has fewer followers than he had, and even less clout, as Millibrat set out his vision of the NewNu Labour future that he wanted to see.

Not much on substance, and just more tired old rejigs of the mantra, we will change etc etc, but it shows that all is definitely not well in the Brown world of politics.

The newspapers and MSM are all asking will he go or will he be pushed screaming out of an office, that he has shown he is unable master nor manage. The MSM have finally tumbled to that which we mere mortals have known for some time that Brown wasn't right, the shifty looks (some say creepy) the nail biting, the control freakery and the obvious deficiency in intelligence and intellect. He was never ever going to be the showman that Blair was, all the silly fucker had to do was not be outed, keep his head down and all might have been alright.

His indecision about the possibility of an election sparked notice that here was a bottler, and he started to look more and more shifty, the signing of the Lisbon Treaty late and behind closed doors without witnesses showed us his shame and his knowledge of that shame proving he knew we didn't want it, yet went ahead.

He and his cohorts deserve the kicking they are going to receive at the hands of the electorate come polling day, but for me that is much to lenient, the members of the labour party should all be strung up as a warning to the tories and all other "career politicians" to behave or they will be next!

EU Laws... do we have to follow them?

Now don't get me wrong I can see the reason for some, but not all our laws.

But given that the EU, is ignoring one of its own Laws, that the Lisbon Treaty has to be ratified by all 27 countries to come into effect. Should we obey the Laws made by the EU, after all if they cannot follow their own regulations, why the fuck should we?

We know that the Irish (god love them, and we should thank them) rejected the Treaty, we also know that the Political Shits that run the EU, have stated that its business as usual and ordered that ratification continues in all the other countries.

We know that No mandate Brown, the Scottish myopic bottler, has rushed through the British ratification, even knowing that some 80% of the population want a referendum on the EU.

Most of the Irish I have spoken to state that as they couldn't understand what the treaty meant because it was incomprehensible, they voted No because to vote Yes, without knowing exactly what they would be voting yes for, was stupid and a risk they were not willing to take!

They understood enough to know if they got the No vote wrong, they could/would get another opportunity to change it, however if they voted Yes whilst not fully understanding what they were signing away, they would not ever get or be given another opportunity!

Some of the EU high ranking people have stated that it is an affront that Ireland a country that represents only 0.7% of the 490 million European peoples, could hold up ratification, that such a small country could impose its will on 490 million people!

Now the EU commissioners, the EU civil service and all the political shits from all the EU countries DO NOT Make up such a large number as the Irish people, so why should they who must represent less than 0.01% of the 490 million people, decide what is best for us all?

This being the case, just who the fuck are they and why should I follow their laws, whether rubber stamped by our traitorous government or not, I don't believe I have any reason to follow the EU rules, I never signed up, was never asked, and I believe its absolutely no form of democracy at all.

After all how can an EU that is supposed to be democratic, refuse its citizens the right to a referendum on the EU's existence, could it be they know full well that the EU would be given a resounding NO! Just as the french the Dutch and now the Irish have done!!

Changing the GoalPosts once again...

Our extremely illiberal Justice Secretary, Jack Straw is asking the tory party to agree to new laws which would allow "anonymous evidence" to be permitted in court after the collapse of a trail due to a Law Lords ruling that such evidence is inadmissible..

Once again we are seeing an attack on common law, which is and has been the base for our legal system for centuries. In order to stop the state being able to stitch people up on trumped up charges, we have the right to face our accusers, to face them in court, and to question them.

Any new knee jerk laws, would once again be ill used by the police and the CPS, because as we have seen time after time, once given these powers for different reasons, they use them without any checks or balances. The elderly gentlemen arrested at the labour party conference using terrorism laws, the parents in Poole being put under surveillance by the local council using Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act, which is intended for use 'in the interests of national security'.

All go to prove the old adage that lawyers do not make good laws, and show without doubt that the police and others cannot do their jobs competently!

Ex Blue Peter Star Accused again...

It seems poor old John Leslie cannot be left alone, once again an allegation of rape has surfaced, from 13 years ago.

One point that I have made before in another post regarding Owen Oyston and his conviction for rape, is the time scale. I believe it unfair to ask what any of us were doing 13 years ago, and even more foolish to expect us to remember.

Who under direct questioning from a QC or barrister, could fail look anything other than shifty and suspect, just for not really knowing or recalling fully an event that took place years ago.

John I hope that the gods are with you and once again you prevail, unfortunately in this day and age, mud sticks, and many will have already convicted you believing that there is no smoke without fire!

But I do find it rather odd that yet again, its either the Police or the CPS, who appear to have leaked the story to the press, permitting the media to hold a kangaroo court in the papers. It begs the question does someone really have it in for the poor guy!

HURRAH for the Truckers....

Now I understand that for many people, truck drivers and their wagons are the bane of the road. They do have a tendency to slow down traffic and belch fumes everywhere, they are large and noisy, and seem at times to give everyone the impression that they rule the roads!

My impressions are the same, but enough of that, they are to be THANKED, yes thanked and applauded, they are standing up and screaming at "No mandate Brown" for our petrol and diesel duty to be reduced.

In all the news today we are informed that the tax man has made over ONE BILLION POUNDS in extra revenue from the increase in oil prices. Thats extra monies we are being forced to pay to the revenues offices, money we can ill afford to waste in this harsh financial climate.

So please applaud the truckers, because if they win, we all benefit! Maybe its time we were all more like the Froggies and caused chaos whenever the government imposed its daft ideas upon us?

and they still don't get it!!!

Well the by-election in Crewe and Nantwhich is over, and the liebour spin merchants are spouting total tosh, even the PM (my hand in your trousers) Brown has said that this is a clear instruction from the electorate to carry on and do his job!

Gordon you myopic fucker, listen, the reason you lost in Crewe is the town has had a massive influx of Polish immigrants, they cause problems in the town centre pubs and clubs. They have no idea of how to deal with the english birds, who might flirt and flash, but you better not touch! They do not like what their town has become and rather than face ridicule and being slighted as racist, they have done what they wanted to do, given you a pasting!

The people of Crewe have listened to your excuse that immigration is good for our economy, but towns like these have a massive drain on the local infrastructure and services, that the supposed £6 billion benefit immigration provides to the economy, simply does not cover costs incurred by these councils and service providers.

They see low paid jobs going to the poles and other EU immigrants, they walk through their own town, and hear foreign tongues that have no idea about the "English culture",you know the culture that your party wants to get rid of, because your embarrassed and you hate it!

Then there is the manifesto promise on a referendum that you broke, not for one minute did you understand that, the Labour strongholds in the North (the supposed backbone of the Labour party), have bloody good memories and can spot a liar a mile off, and they will in time get rid of you and your scottish mafia currently in charge. They know you have lied about the economy and they know you as chancellor have doubled taxation and introduced stealth taxes galore, they see themselves as under siege, and as such they have turned away from your party.

Your "understanding" of what the people are telling you, is seriously adrift from what they are saying, they don't want you gordon, and most of all they don't want a labour party headed by a scottish mafia.

If I thought you were an honourable man I would ask you to fall on your sword, but as we all know you are not honourable, so just shrivel up and die, you sad sack of shit!

Footnote and one final point, how can a party that is bankrupt be trusted with our money, when they have proved to be incompetent with their own finances?

State of the Nation...

Are we heading back to the dark ages? Has our progress throughout the years finally come so far that we are being dragged back into the past, when lawlessness was rife, and harm could come to any who strayed too far from the safety of their homes?

Because for those of us that live in inner cities and large towns, we are being denied the freedom of movement at night, with gangs of feral youths, of which the supposed fairer sex, are increasingly making larger numbers. Combined with their extreme violence that far outweighs the male members of these gangs.

Two weeks ago, as is my want, I went to the local hostelry for refreshment, as is usual on a friday night. An extremely pleasant evening was spent in good company, and a fair few pints were quaffed. At the end of the evening we leave en-masse and head for the bus stop, to catch the last bus back to our homes. This evening however things were to change, whilst waiting for the bus, a couple of teen girls swaggered by, and seeing us at the bus shelter, decided to have a laugh at our expense.

Now maybe a couple of the lads were silly, after all it seems ill-advised to actually try to communicate with these neanderthal dunderheads, and once the harridans from hell realised that whilst certainly we were a wee bit merry, our intelligence far exceeded their own, and in the ensuing "game of wordsmiths" they were severely out classed.

Now as a witness to these word fisticuffs, I had assumed it was just idle banter and the girls would walk away, but no! They took umbrage that we as mere middle aged men had the cheek, gall and sheer audacity, to show them up for fools.

They then screamed "peedo" at the lads who had talked to them, and before we knew it we were surrounded by about 15 to 20 baying youths of both sexes, up to the bus arriving and us starting to alight, it was all foul mouths and gesturing from them, until the last three got on the bus at which point the youths attacked, hitting a couple of the blokes. For no other reason than they were goaded into it by the girls of the gang.

They did attempt to slow or stop the bus, by running in front of it, but the driver who seemed to be an old hand at this game of chicken, just put his foot down and was heard by all near him to say " I don't do brakes for scum", which gained him some applause.

Have things really changed that much, has family life, education and society slumped to such depths, that these gangs really are in charge of our streets in the evening?

Hello diary, glad your still here when I feel the need to let of steam!

Life has a habit of grabbing you by the goolies when you least expect it, from simple building work, that should have taken weeks, to have extended to months. Plus one tradesman being chased to come and rectify his mistakes, which although minor do cause inconvenience, plus gets me a constant ear bashing from the missis! Cause as we all know its always our fault!

In my absence from actually writing down my thoughts and perceptions of our illustrious leaders and their lying shenanigans, loads has happened.

Liebour has been well and truly creamed in the local elections, losing well over 400 councillors their seats, and control of some councils...... as they say everything comes to he who waits.....mmmm wonder when I'll get to see milibrat and brown being pulled through with a christmas tree... ah well I live in hope.

Yet Mr Brown and his associated criminals in the Liebour party, will not see or maybe refuse to accept, that the majority of people have finally found out, what some of us new a while back! That they are nothing other than control freaks, who lie, cheat and steal our hard earned taxes to feather their own nests. They refuse to believe that people can now see through them, that we have had as a nation far too many, new starts, new deals, working groups, fact finding parties, ad nausiem! that boiled down to absolutely sweet fuck all, it hasn't worked and given the government can't even organise its own parties finances, why the fuck should we trust them with ours?

Tonight I decided to test this freedom of information malarky, just to see if we as normal citizens can actually get any info we want or need.

So I went to the Metropolitian Police web site and filled in an online application.....

Asking for a list of all politicians (specifically Labour) who are not on the Police DNA database.

Now I wonder if I will get a reply??? or will I be fobbed off? Any bets??

I want to bring back the right to bear arms, that was given to us in the Bill of Rights, not that the Bill has ever really been repealed or cancelled out. During the Metric Martyrs fight back, Justice Laws, decreed that the Bill of Rights was sacrosanct and could never be taken away.

With this in mind, does the legislation in place that bans owning hand guns, have any legality?

With the rising amount of serious crime and the proof that criminals have and will use guns at even the slightest provocation, does this not suggest it is about time that we as people started to look to our own defence and protection?

How many friends and neighbours do you personally know, that keep baseball bats or other weapons near the front door, just in case? I know of a couple of people that do and one of them is an ex copper!

As someone who has served in HM Forces, and carried weapons and seen the damage that they can and do inflict. My first instinct was that they should all be banned, but as we have seen and continue to see, the banning of hand guns doesn't work! All it does is make it easier for the criminal to overpower their victims.

Another point to ponder, is the Police Force, as it cannot do the job it was set up to do, ie. protect the citizens and bring to justice criminals, would we be correct in thinking that we are therefore entitled to defend ourselves? Does this not offer more proof that we should be able to arm ourselves?

Without wishing to bring about a vigilante culture, I think its about time we took back our laws, after all they were made for us, hence the term common law. The law doesn't belong to the judges nor the solicitors, they can interpret it, but its our law handed down to us by those who fought and died for all our freedoms. The law doesn't belong to the political classes, they may make suggestions, they may legislate, but as one Parliament cannot be bound by another, so too, laws that are ill conceived can be repealed and changed and declared null and void.

My mother has an idea or two about sex offenders, well more about their punishment and how it should be doled out. She suggests putting the convicted person in a room with about 20 unarmed women who's children have been abused for about 15 Min's. She reckons this would cure most of the offenders chances of re offending when the justice system releases them early. As she says with what is left of the offenders wedding tackle, (if anything) he will be unable to re-offend. Not too sure about what the Human Rights Act would say about it, but it is seriously biblical in its simplicity.

Well folks, its now officially 2008, and we are all wondering what this new year has in store for us.

My apologies for lack of posts, but the gap for chrimbo was extended due to massive building projects, ok not so big really , but having bathroom ripped out and replaced, doors ripped out and windows replaced to me is major. Even more so when its all got to be paid for :-(
(Having read all the blurb etc, I am assured that end/start of year is the cheapest time to get work done, as everyone is suffering from lack of cash.)

Anywho, the labour or should that be Liebour Party have had members caught lying and cheating, no surprise there then! Yet still refusing to resign, oh for the days of the Tories who at least had the decency to pack up and fuck off when all went wrong! (I don't mean I actually want them back in power, just that they seemed generally to be a little more honourable, if such a thing is possible with politico's)

Our government of esteemed liars and charlatans are forcing through parliament the "reform treaty" and one could hazard a guess that it will be forced through no matter what, unless of course some fucker bombs parliament...... no wait that's November the fifth isn't it?

Whilst there has been a lack of posting on my part I have as ever managed to keep up with all the blogs that I read, and please be assured that I do read you all, even when I don't comment.

MP's want MORE MONEY?????

Well its almost that time of year again when MP's tell us what they expect cash wise from we taxpayers. As ever we are being asked to fund above inflation pay rises for these parasites.

Well if they can't pay the Police their full 2.5% (but devolved executives in Scotland and Wales can pay it?)then to my mind they shouldn't have the 10% increase they have requested.

Now the only way I as a tax payer would be willing to fund this rise would be if they lost all of their expenses, and I mean all.

The piece in the Mail makes the point that Gordo is against the increase, however now that the backbenchers are realising what a clot they put in charge (gordo the one eyed wanker) they are now coming to the conclusion that many of them will lose their seat's come the next general election. So they are trying to get as much money in the pension pot as possible, and they still expect us to believe that they are doing it for our benefit!

Low and behold there is suggestion that the Tories have an agreement to back the backbenchers revolt against the one eyed wonder of wankistan!

Me thinks hemp neckties and lamposts are creeping surely closer and closer!

Prostitution.....

The Nulabour harridan Harriet Harman has called for prostitution to be made illegal.

When considering this subject I really do wish people would stop and actually think what this would mean, I try to be as dispassionate as possible and expect other to do the same.

We are informed that historically its the oldest profession, since before biblical times prostitutes have plied their trade.

Harriet makes use of the "sex worker trafficing" and "illegal international human trafficing" and that we need to stop sex being sold to stop the trafficing. With never a thought that, as we obviously have a market for "sex workers" and they can earn good money in the UK proves there is a need.

Now which do you think will work, a complete ban, that drives sex workers underground, puts them further under the control of pimps and criminals? Or legalisation of brothels, run in the same vein as the ones in some American states or Germany.

My opinion for what it is, draws me to the simple conclusion that legalisation is the only way to go!

If people are being traded for work in the sex industry, then legalised brothels would stop the trade in unwilling workers. Monitored and policed the girls would be required to have frequent health checks, but more importantly would be safe.

The premises could/would be out of town, avoiding the nimby's

The areas would be policed and any wrong doings by clients cracked down on.

The earnings would be taxable, giving revenue to the exchequer.

I have not done any deep research, but from what I have read Germany's sexual offenses against womans rate is much less than the UK, (although trawling through there does seem to be some slight increase of offences commited by new Immigrants)

The criminal elements that then set up private brothels could be the ones the police and authorities target. With severe penalties for those who break the law.

For those whom the idea seems abhorant, I understand as I wouldn't like my sister to be a prostitute, but where there is a need, and lets face it some people really need to be able to use the services, I would be willing to to permit prostitution.

Housing...

I am in a bit of a quandary here, I can see the reasoning for asking older folks who have had their kids grow up and leave the nest, to move to smaller properties. I can see that social housing is needed for families and that there isn't enough to go around.

One could and indeed should say that this was the fault of successive governments, both Tory and labour, who have refused to let the councils use monies raised by the "Right to buy" scheme, to build newer council housing stocks.
Looking back it was obviously a mistake, on every ones part. Not only would it have eased the supply and demand, but it would have at the time given the building trade a boost it needed in a harsh climate. Which would have also given our tradesmen an ability to take on and train future plumbers, plasterers, carpenters and brickies.
So all in all a missed opportunity. Which has seen an increase in building tradesmen coming to the country from the EU, as we have not enough of our own tradesmen to meet our needs or demand.

Allowing councils to build newer housing to replace stock sold, would have meant newer houses that met or came a damn site closer to the much vaunted "energy efficiency" requirements foisted upon us by the EU.

I admit I took advantage of buying my council house, and over the next 10 years spent money on double glazing, cavity wall insulation, gas central heating, all to done to improve my families living conditions and comfort. So my little two bed roomed house that I bought for 21,950 in 1992 is now worth about 90,000. Unless I sell I haven't really made any money at all, although on paper I have. Please bear in mind that Blackpool house prices have risen however, ex council houses have not risen as much as other homes.

So we have now a government minister telling the country, that people over accommodated in social housing stock will be moved to make the way for families who's need is greater. Notwithstanding that these people have made their homes, made friends and helped to make their communities. They will have their families, friends and relatives close by, some of the families that I know still have adult children at home at 23 and 24 years of age, simply because they cannot either afford buy their own home, nor afford the rent and other costs of running a home on the minimum wage.

You see what nark's me is that Yvette Cooper the Housing minister, (who has been slated for some dodgy dealings with regards to her 2nd home that we the tax payers are paying for) has no idea of local communities, of their make up, or even how they work. She doesn't understand that over the years the people get to know each other, taking the kids to school, meeting in the Post office, the doctors, the local pubs and clubs. This is mainly because she has not lived and worked in a local community, when she goes home of an evening the door is closed to the rest of the world.
Other than her association with other politicians who also do not live in the real world, she has no idea how the other seventy five percent of the population live, she cannot get her head round the fact she is dealing with other human beings, who resent paying her and her husband their politicians salary and expenses, and guaranteed gold plated pensions.

They resent someone who has not lived in their community telling the community that she is going to strip and rip a large proportion of its heart out. Lets face it this will only affect the working class and lower paid members of our society, you know the ones that Labour are supposed to be for!

A proportion that has paid it's taxes, paid for the NHS, EU et al, and yet are to be moved to "the country" or to "smaller accommodation" to suit a political whim. To houses, god knows where, in who knows what state, to start again without friends and family. Talk about a potential death sentence hanging over people!

In Liverpool communities have been decimated by the housing regeneration forced upon it by the then deputy PM Prescotts department, who have wasted countless millions buying up properties, that only needed renovating to make them into decent homes. They then pulled them down to make affordable housing that no one locally can afford, now how fucking clever is that?

So whilst I can see that the housing is needed for families, I can also see the reason for these people refusing to leave their homes and communities that they helped to build.

Answers? I just don't know, but I do think as ever with Labour it will all cost millions and end in fucking tears!

After my rant about Gordo and the HMRC losing MY INFORMATION!!! I as I do most days read the blogs that I link to.

Today one post really got to me, I don't know why, and I cant explain how a 40+ bloke can sit in tears after reading this post from Mousie. Ive done numerous jobs, served in the Armed Forces, been places, seen and done things, that the average person hasn't and still can't work out what it was that got to me.

Thank you Mousie, thanks for making me human, if human is the right word, thanks for helping me share your experiences, thanks for writing about it.

I want to say so much, but fear that I would detract from the effect of the tale.

I want to rant about MP's who's salaries and perks and pensions mean less money goes to people like Mousie, people on the front line, the ones that really do care for their fellow man and receive a pittance for their efforts. I want to warn about the risks of these people burning out after years of watching people die, even if it is only because its their time to go. About the suffering they see day in and day out, and yet unless it is ourselves or loved ones involved we never give Mousie and her colleagues a second thought.

I really couldn't do your job Mousie, and I thank you for being there and doing what I cannot, I wish you all your heart desires, but please be careful, we need people like you!

If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under threat of force. Every human interaction falls into one of those two categories, without exception. Reason or force, that's it.

In a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively interact through persuasion. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

When I carry a gun, you cannot deal with me by force. You have to use reason and try to persuade me, because I have a way to negate your threat or employment of force. The gun is the only personal weapon that puts a 100-pound woman on equal footing with a 220-pound mugger, a 75-year old retiree on equal footing with a 19-year old gangbanger, and a single gay guy on equal footing with a carload of drunk guys with baseball bats. People who think that fists, bats, sticks, or stones don't constitute lethal force watch too much TV, where people take beatings and come out of it with a bloody lip at worst. The fact that the gun makes lethal force easier works solely in favor of the weaker defender, not the stronger attacker. If both are armed, the field is level. The gun is the only weapon that's as lethal in the hands of an octogenarian as it is in the hands of a weightlifter. It simply wouldn't work as well as a force equalizer if it wasn't both lethal and easily employable.

When I carry a gun, I don't do so because I am looking for a fight, but because I'm looking to be left alone. The gun at my side means that I cannot be forced, only persuaded. I don't carry it because I'm afraid, but because it enables me to be unafraid. It doesn't limit the actions of those who would interact with me through reason, only the actions of those who would do so by force. It removes force from the equation...and that's why carrying a gun is a civilized act.

Like Mao said, "political power grows out of the barrel of a gun." In a repressive totalitarian system, the folks who hold power always make sure that they're the only ones who can bear arms. (People who don't have reason on their side always favor force, of course.)That's probably a big subconscious factor in why so many Leftists are against guns in the hands of the citizenry (and not a small number of right-wingers as well, although they tend to deny the RKBA to specific undesirable groups, not everyone.)

Government needs lessons...

The Daily Express has an article in today's E edition, which comments on a recent government survey about kids drinking habits. It also has an "have your say" whereby one can leave ones comments about the article.

The piece that follows was/is my response to the article and as one seldom gets feed back from any of the readers on the Express, I though it merited posting on the blog for your perusal.

Gov't need lessons...

Kids at what ever age like to exaggerate, to make themselves seem more grown own, more experienced, more adult.

So I would as an adult having teenage kids, take this survey with a pinch of salt. I would also like to know what questions were asked, because one thing this current govt is over fond of doing is phrasing questions to get the answers they want!

Kids drinking is nothing new, very few people got through their teen years without drinking a couple of bottles of cider or cheap lager in parks with mates.

It wasn’t' a major problem and when found out, as was usually the case, the kids were punished. The throwing up and ill feeling was usually enough physical punishment, and the “grounding" and stern words from parents was enough to complete the job.

These day's the kids have rights and they know about them. They have no fear of punishment of any kind, either at home or in the schools or in our streets. They are to all intents and purposes untouchable and they know it.

The PC brigade have castigated, lied and coerced with the tacit approval of govt, and shown us the best "way" to bring up kids, they told us "we know best" unfortunately that was a LIE, they knew and know nothing.

So their experiment strangely hasn't worked, because we do not live in an ideal world. We have, thanks to the meddling have lost a generation of kids, who cannot or will not work in school, who see no reason to work, who, thanks to knowing their rights believe the world owes them a living.

NuLabour and its legions of do gooders would do well to remember that mankind has been around far far longer than any political party, we have had thousands of years of breeding and raising children, and funnily enough it worked. It must have otherwise we would be no more! Mankind would have dies out years ago!

They use the stick that some people beat kids, ill-treat them and abuse them. Yes this sadly is true, But to associate a smack or chastisement as assault and abuse is bullshit of the first order.

Life is harsh, we live in a somewhat cleansed and antiseptic world an age away from our origins. Therefore trying to save children is admirable aim, but one that is unfortunately unachievable especially when the tools used to try and save the children, outlaw generations of knowledge and tried and tested methods gained by the experience of actually bringing up children.

There will ever be people that go over the top, but this can be changed by education, by teaching in schools, trying to show youngsters how ideally children should be brought up, but showing them that chastisement does have a role to play!

After all the biggest bully on the block has always been our own government, no matter which party, as the only way they are able to control and police us, is through threats of fines, ASBO’s, the fear of loss of liberty.

So how can governments lecture the population on bringing up children, when they as government use exactly the same methods too; they use their powers to, control, coerce, frighten and force. The government has a less than gentle hand against its own peoples!

Conspiracy Nut?

Is it just me, or are we all going to hell in a hand cart?

I think I may becoming a "conspiracy theorist", I feel that there is a explicit agenda that those in office (they are never in power) seem to want to ram down my throat.

The Government tells us that the best interests of the UK is to be in the EU, which is fine, if they think that, maybe its true. I don't know, I really don't know. But then I begin to question some of their statements and actually look at what is happening. I see Brown saying we have red lines that are safe and that we will not need anymore treaties for at least 10 years.

Actually reading the Reform treaty aka constitution, hidden away in small print are small statements, like that any veto's will be erased after 5 years, when majority voting takes effect, at the same time as all parts of the treaty must be observed by all member states! Now I take this to mean that Gordo and Millibrat are lying, that they know the red lines are shyte, but haven't the bottle to tell us. Or maybe they are being lied to by the other members of the EU? So which is it? just who do we believe?

Then we have the french idiot Sarkozy stating "It would a mistake to think that with the simplified Treaty we have sorted everything, we can sleep easy and that no other issues are pending. Now we have got to resolve the political issues and to broach them without fear. We have got to debate them without taboos. Budgetary policy, trade policy, monetary policy,industrial policy, taxation, all policies, any policies... What does our European commitment mean for each of us if we are incapable of debating the creation of a European defence?"

So I take it that this now cancels out Browns statement that we will not need any more treaties for the next 10 years!

I see people in my country asking the govt, to ban e numbers in foods, only to be told by the press, not the politicians, that this is now an EU competence and therefore we cannot ban them!

In order to ban them we would have to ask the other 26 members to agree to ban them, and if the bigger part of those 26 members say fuck off, we can't ban them. But if the majority of them say yes lets ban them totally, it then goes to the commission (or a part of it) who can say, nope sorry your all wrong, you cant ban them cause we say so. This is supposed to be more democratic how?

You see I don't believe we are really democratic at all, I have begun to realise that this two party system we have, and lets face it the Lib Dems are just pissing in the wind so don't count, itself negates democracy. Two parties both singing from the same hymn sheet about the EU, cannot be democratic at all, therefore to my mind it follows that we are not in a democracy.

We can't be if the same parties are in office year after year, decade after decade, both pursuing the same agenda of further EU integration. Giving more controls to an outside body that we cannot elect or get rid of!

So am I mad, have I become a conspiracy nut? You tell me, all I know is I know nothing but my gut reaction is they're up to no fucking good, they want to kiss me without fucking me first!

Dispatches

Tonight's Channel 4 Dispatches programme was all about "Bottleneck Britain", and how the government see road pricing or pay as you drive, as the way to beat the congestion on our roads.

One funny moment in the prog was a man dancing through the lights in central London to show that all the Traffic lights were on red and the vehicles couldn't move at all.

What they all seemed to miss, especially the Economics expert who stated that road pricing must be taken up. Is the simple fact we already pay twice for our roads. We pay road fund licence and we pay per mile through the tax on fuel. That the government sees fit not to spend these monies on the roads is not the motorists fault, and why should the motorists be held responsible.

We have according to the prog, 26 million vehicles on the road in the UK. Now by my maths that makes a massive contribution to government coffers. If all the vehicle were cars that raises 3,900,000,000, but they are not all cars and light goods vehicles, they are HGV's which pay upto £2,000 road tax which increases the governments take even more.

The reporter came across as a government stooge, trying to prove the case for, rather than ask where was the money going, and no-one actually asked would there be a cancellation of road tax or a drop in fuel tax.

It was good to see Neil Herron in a two minute segment about parking charges, with a great bit of advertising for his blog on his car.

ISP's

What is up with ISP's how can they fail to get the message?

In September I served notice as per my current ISP Terms and conditions, and gave them 30 day notice of cancellation. Well to be truthful as I don't and didn't trust them I gave them 35 days notice. I sent my letter of cancellation to the office stated in their T&C's, and also a copy to their head office, both of which were sent recorded delivery.

Exactly 10 days after we had a phone call from our ISP asking why we were leaving, even though our letter gave the full and frank reasons for our decision. Needless to say we were not induced to remain with that ISP in spite of incentives offered.

As part of our move we requested our phone number to be released to our new provider as we were actually quite fond of it, and as it had been apart of the family for a number of years, it quite honestly wanted to come with us!

Now the contract with our old ISP was up on the 2nd November, and they had promised by phone that our number would be released to our new ISP on the 5th of November.

Guess who is still waiting! After contacting my new ISP and asking why the delay,we were told that the old ISP would not release the number until the 13th November and it would take until the 16th of November to take effect.

WTF!! How hard is it to hand over a number from one company to another?

I called my old ISP and asked why and was told they had no record of our phone calls and no idea we were unhappy with the service etc. When I asked if a copy of my cancellation letter was on file they searched their computer and told me it was, he even read out a portion of it to me so I could be sure it was the actual letter I sent. Yet they had no record of our wish/intention to cancel, yes it beats me as well!

Surprise surprise, what should drop through the letter box today a letter from the old ISP telling me that a request had been made to transfer our service to another provider, and accordingly we are treating this as notice to terminate your agreement for the account.

I have deliberately left the name of the ISP concerned until the end, because I want to see how many of you could guess it, the answer is in the comments.

I discovered MyBlogLog rather late, it looked interesting and seemed a good way to see who actually visits ones site and don't leave comments. It allowed me to see and thus visit other blogs that I may not have come across, which I found really helpful!

I tried to sign in to mybloglog today, and found to my surprise that I couldn't do so. The site has been bought/taken over by Yahoo and the only way to sign in is to use a current Yahoo ID or re register as a Yahoo user.

This was something I felt strongly enough about, that I took the link off my site, despite Yahoo's insistence that it " helped by reducing another password for me to remember".

When I signed up to MBL, it was quick easy and needed no other information than an email account for verification and obviously a blog. It was nice easy and simple, rather like me who prefers to keep things in separate places and doesn't like to put all his eggs into one basket. The ability to visit others sites and leave a tag saying you had been without actually leaving a comment, was ideal, it was great others bloggers knew I had been and had a link back to my site if they wished to follow it.

So my apologies to all those who still use the MBL service, but its take over and insistence on having a Yahoo ID has irked me somewhat, and I am sorry I will no longer be a part of that community.

Changing ISP's

I have had enough and thankfully coming to the end of my 18 month contract with my current ISP. Its up on the 2nd of Nov.

Blogging maybe intermittent whilst I search out and find another ISP, its looking likely to be a cable company, but nothing fixed as yet.

I Have just been reading a post on Comment is Free, now it was brought to my attention by DK, who's fisking of it led to me reading it in full. Now whilst I understand what DK has said and heartily agree with much if not all of his sentiment, it had the same effect, it fucking incensed me. Not the actual article you understand but the comments, and these people are supposed to be the cream of our country?

I have been many things in my life, most notably a bit of a piss head, never done drugs apart from the beer and fags, even been called a twat more than a few times.

We don't all read the Sun and the Mirror, and okay some of us do read the Express and the mail, but others read the Independent, the Observer, and telegraph, and we don't believe all we read and we talk about it and find out more.

The area I live in is or was staunchly Labour, yet in the local council elections the Lib Dems came in with 201 votes less than Labour, the Tories came nowhere. But had there been a someone else to vote for, who knows what might have happened! This from an area that now is starting to hate Labour as much as the Tories. The tide has turned, things can only get better if we can convince the one eyed twat to hold a referendum!!!

Well so much for all the hype, the no mandate PM Gordo (I want your Money) Brown, has said that he does not want to call an Autumn election.

He says's if he called an election it would have been about competence, fitness to govern as it were, Gordo cites, Foot and Mouth spread ( from a government run facility), the terrible summer floods, (When he was chancellor he cut spending on flood defences) and the financial crisis facing the banks (when he was chancellor he set the rules under which the banks could ask the Bank of England for help) all these supposedly prove his competence to run the UK.

Gordo now wants to show us his "vision for change in Britain" specifically Housing, Education and Health! This bloke beggars belief, just how much of a fuckwit is he??? He was chancellor for the whole time that Tony Bliar was PM, as chancellor he had overall control of monies and where exactly they were to be spent.

He wasted untold millions on the Millennium Dome fiasco, he wasted money in creating more middle managers to oversee the targets in the Health Service. None of the extra money went on or reached the front line nurses or Doctors.

Wasted millions on the "Academy" schools, that are not performing, spewing out thousands of kids unable to read or write basic english!

Created the housing crisis by allowing more and more immigrants to come into the country, creating a shortfall in adequate housing, but also an increased drain on the NHS, the Transport infrastructure and services provided by local councils.

In other words he wants us to believe he and only he can put right the wrongs that were created by his Liebour government!

Listen you scottish fuckwit, you've had ten years, you make laws that don't apply to your own constituents, you know the tossers that voted for you, and we are expected to swallow it all hook line and sinker? Bottling scotch cunt!!!

Tory Party Conference.

Well they're in Blackpool, spending not a lot of dosh and complaining about the weather, how English how so very quaint.

The problem for the Tories is one of loss, and its a loss of direction, they could quite easily be leading in the polls if they attacked the Liebour Party.

My opinion counts for nothing, and I do realise it never has, but for what its worth here are some policies I would like to see them fight for:

Taxes, take the personal allowance up to £10k, this would take many lower paid jobs out of the taxation bracket altogether. Reduce all taxation to 10% of income, if the government cannot survive on that, well tough we've had enough of paying through the nose for crap services.

NI. One rate for all 10% Money ring fenced for NHS and Pensions.

VAT. After a EU referendum, we should be out of the EU, therefore VAT can be paid to councils to reduce council tax and reduced to 5%.

Council Tax. To be funded through VAT, and a flat fee of £400 per year per household, no more, if councils cannot manage, tough! Learn to do what the majority of people have had to do, budget within your means.

NHS, Put the emphasis back on caring and treating people, less middle managers and targets, targets can't work and never will.

Road Fund Licence. Money raised to be ring fenced, 50% for roads, 25% for Public Transport 25% into sustainable energy research.

EU. either we are in and in fully or we are out, put it to the people, let us decide after all its our children's rights your willing to give away, not just your own.

Police. Scrap the Plastic Police, (PCSO's) get real officers where people want to see them back on the street.

Immigration. Borders shut until we get it sorted, no more asylum seekers or EU migrants. Anyone reaching the UK has set foot in other EU countries first, send them back to the last safe country!

Commonwealth . More done to assist and help the commonwealth countries, more equally beneficial trade within the Commonwealth.

EU. Commit to an Common Market and free trade area, the only thing the British public ever voted for.

Law. Repeal any EU legislation, that works against British interests or duplicates what we had before. Restore the supremacy of UK law.

UK; Referendum on splitting the Union, if the UK is to remain, then the Barratt formula to be stopped.

Education. Taken out of political control, vouchers to be used, which can be used in any school to purchase an education.

Climate Change. A load of bollocks, proper research done by open minded scientists who are not afraid to rock the boat.

Smoking Ban. To stay, Provision made for Non Food pubs with top of the range air purifying equipment and seperate non smoking rooms.

Iraq War. A public apology to the Iraqi people and a full withdrawal of UK troops. The Blair Brown Cabinet to be tried for war crimes.

Smoking behind the wheel a distraction?

On the BBC news website today is a piece on the new Highway Code, it goes on to mention that there are 29 new rules which includes a new safety code for new drivers.

Now being a smoker, and one that does not smoke in the car when young lfb is present, I cannot for the life of me understand how some people actually get their jobs and manage to keep them.

Road Safety Minister Jim Fitzpatrick is obviously not a smoker, and has tried to imagine a person lighting up, he states "If you're lighting up with one hand and have a fag in the other hand then obviously you've not got any hands on the wheel."

Now Jim I don't wish to piss on your chips mate, its done one handed you dolt! One only has to put the ciggie between ones lips, once it is in place the lighter is lit and placed at the end of said ciggie, two quick drags and its lit. It also takes about 1.8 seconds, and yes i did time it,and 1.8 was the slowest!!! But then I have experience of smoking behind the wheel, which is more than any of these wankers supporting the ban has! In other words you fuckwit, unless you know what your talking about then shit the fuck up!!

More bullshit, most people who smoke know the risk of dropping the fag either between the legs or in the foot well. Many have actually done it, including me, and the first thing you do is indicate and pull over, you do not panic! Try asking drivers what they do see how many say it caused a crash or and accident!

Trust the Banks?

Following Northern Rocks troubles, in which thousands of savers and investors queued, some through the night to get their savings back. Teamspirit a Public Relations company dealing with financial companies has a report which states

"Fewer than half of consumers now consider high street banks trustworthy, with almost a quarter say they do not trust any type of financial services provider."

Given that people were frightened to death of losing their hard earned money, the run on Northern Rock is in some small way understandable.

Now I am no financial whizkid, I certainly ain't rich or even well off. I get by, which is about all that most of us can say these days. I never intended blogging about banking or the Northern Rock fiasco, but I came across a footnote in a magazine in the hospital. written sometime this week by Sue Hannums who works for AWD Chase de Vere, and she was quoted as saying:

"Consumers must reignite their trust in banks and building societies because
they remain a safe home for their money"

Now just how can consumers ignite this trust? To be honest why the fek should they?

In the last two years how many people have fought tooth and nail against the banks to claw back unlawful charges? How many have done the same with Credit Card companies? How many are fighting for money back from Mortgage Companies? How come it took the efforts of normal consumers to take on the banks, when their own regulators couldn't or wouldn't?

These are the same Banks and Building Societies that have shafted any and everyone, slightly overdrawn, here's a £35.00 quid charge! Plus they charge you for the fucking letter telling you your going to be charged! Hows that for twattishness?

Now they want us to trust them again??? What utter fuckwits! Its like trusting Gordon Brown with our pensions, or savings accounts that we leave gaining interest! If we are not careful the 21century's new robber baron will have it away, oops sorry he already has!

The CEO of Teamspirit Joanne Parker said " Although the Northern Rock situation has reduced trust in companies that look after our money, the UK has one of the most regulated financial services markets in the world"

Well yes again it means exactly that. We would of course not be able to claim compensation nor set a tariff ourselves, that would of course be set by our masters in the EU. Now I know that I am being overly simplistic, but the past has shown that no matter how laws are written, unless everything is spelt out, anything is possible!"

As ever DK does it with far more aplomb than I could, but its nice to see that an off the cuff comment could really be true and not just a scare tactic.

We need a referendum to begin to get us out of this debacle that is the corrupt and venal EU!!

This man is clearly not a man of his word, and not worthy of any trust. If such a man is at the head of our government, then the conclusion must be, tragic as it is, that the Dutch people can no longer trust their government.

The words must seem awfully strong and passionate, but the government seems to have forgotten the meaning of the word 'democracy'; a nation governed according to the will of its people. In fact, it is starting to reek of dictatorship, and I find the odour particularly unpleasant.

All is not yet lost, as the lower house still has a say in the matter and there are many supporters of 'Nee' present. They might still be able to get a referendum through, and in that I put my hope.

In conclusion, I can only add that Prime Minister Balkenende deserves nothing save my, and the Dutch nation's, heartfelt contempt. He and his cabinet have disregarded the will of their people, the fact that they are supposed to represent a democracy, and in certain cases have gone so far as to break their word. I fear I must speak my personal vote of no-confidence and call this treason, and I think it is time for Balkenende and his cabinet to step down.

We all need to publish other EU countries "Peoples" comments just to remind ourselves that we are not alone in our belief that all politicians are treating us all (EU wide) with contempt!

The EU backs down... I don't think so!!!

The Eu have decided to leave our Pints and miles alone, if the Express is to be believed, notwithstanding that they have persecuted our "Metric Martyrs" to the full extent of the law.

In the last few days we have seen a public outcry for the banning of E numbers in foods, unfortunately, we can't ban them, our masters in the EU have that right!

Boris Johnson bemoaning the loss of the routemaster buses from London, in exchange for the elongated bendy buses ill suited to our roads. Wouldn't tell people that we cant change back, the EU wont let us, they control our buses and coaches!

The intention to put scare pictures of diseased lungs etc on fag packets, is not an idea from our parliament it comes as usual from Brussels, from the EU.

Water metering will soon be mandatory throughout the UK for all ,because the EU, not our government have decreed it.

The reason HIP's, you know the home information packs wont be scrapped, either by Liebour or the other parties, is that we can't ban them, we no longer have that right.

How long before we are forced to drive on the wrong side of the road, forced to holiday on in the EU, forced to pay an EU Income tax?For all this is coming, and will come within five years of Gordo signing our rights away. An incident occurred in a supermarket recently, when the following was witnessed:

A Muslim woman dressed in a Burkha (A black gown & face mask, {for those lucky buggers who have no muslims}) was standing with her shopping in a queue at the checkout. When it was her turn to be served, and as she reached the cashier, she made a loud remark about the English Flag lapel pin, which the female cashier was wearing on her blouse.

The cashier reached up and touched the pin and said, "Yes, I always wear it proudly. My son serves abroad with the forces and I wear it for him".

The Muslim woman then asked the cashier when she was going to stop bombing and killing her countrymen, explaining that she was an Iraqi.

At that point, a Gentleman standing in the queue stepped forward, and interrupted with a calm and gentle voice, and said to the Iraqi woman: "Excuse me, but hundreds of thousands of men and women, just like this ladies son have fought and sacrificed their lives so that people just like YOU can stand here, in England, which is MY country and allow you to blatantly accuse an innocent check-out cashier of bombing YOUR countrymen".

"It is my belief that if you were allowed to be as outspoken as that in Iraq, which you claim to be YOUR country, then we wouldn't need to be fighting there today". "However - now that you have learned how to speak out and criticise the English people who have afforded you the protection of MY country, I will gladly pay the cost of a ticket to help you pay your way back to Iraq".

A BLACKPOOL pub landlord has changed his name to Guy Fawkes after having his trial date set for bonfire night.

Hamish Howitt, 55, proprietor of The Happy Scots Bar on Rigby Road, is the first publican in England to stand trial on charges of flouting the new countrywide smoking ban.And taking inspiration from his trial date – November 5 – he has changed his name by deed poll to Hamish "Guy Fawkes" Howitt.

The pub owner has pleaded not guilty to 12 offences of failing to prevent smoking in smoke-free premises. His son Hugh Howitt, 37, and bar manager Warren Thompson, 25, have both denied two offences of failing to prevent smoking in smoke-free premises at the bar.

Mr Howitt said: "I've changed my name by deed poll to Hamish Guy Fawkes Howitt. It cost me £63.50. Guy Fawkes tried to burn down Parliament as a rebellious step against the government."Where Guy Fawkes tried to blow up Parliament I want to outfox them."A charge was withdrawn against Howitt's wife Joanne, 41, after Vicki Cartmell, prosecuting, offered no evidence and magistrates dismissed the case against her.

Howitt has stated he would go to jail rather than pay any penalty.

Tasers to be used....

If these tasers stop one innocent person from being killed by inept and ill trained fire arms officers, then they are to be welcomed.

How ever I would argue for and like to see, that well before the Political elite give their approval for the use of these weapons, every politician should have to suffer the effects first hand!

Too many times we suffer legislation that never really has any effect upon those whom make it! Get Gordon, Milibrat and StrawMan to suffer the effects, then see how quick they are to permit it! After all if it good enough for the normal population, then its obviously good enough for the politicians!!

It also raises the possibility of a TV show dedicated to see just who is the "Strongman" or woman of politics, taser each politico, just to see who lasts longest, it would be great areas could vote for their local MP or councillors, to take the shot. The leader board would show who is able to withstand the shock without pissing their nickers.... A sure fire money winner,,,,, my money is on hague he seems to have some balls, I would cherish watching Darling piss his silky women's underwear...

In these days of equality, our lady MP's should also be forced to undergo this trial, but I wouldn't want to watch Ann Widicome...... Ggrrrr sends shivers down my spine just thinking about it...

Well well well, it seems that Mr Colin Read, got his comeuppance quicker than expected, the Mail, (who had the courage to print his photo, and his place of work in the original article)has followed up on the case, and report that he has been sacked by LEK management consultants.

Now I usually wouldn't want nor do I like "witch hunts", but in this instance I believe that it is warranted and justified, and I thank the Mail for these articles.

My main contention is that this young bully and thug, should have been charged with more serious offenses, and that he should have been jailed, for I believe that these attacks on his wife warranted a jail term. Far too often we discover that those men who beat their wives are in effect, just simply cowards, who use violence to either get their own way or use it as a way to prove their superiority over their victim.

The fact that he has been sacked does not let the judge, who let this man walk free, 0ff the hook, I still say he should be castrated or horse whipped. Maybe a better idea would be to educate him as to the realities of domestic violence, the way it scars the persons involved.

EU Treaty the possibles...

I've been thinking, about this new treaty and what it does actually mean, to us brits, what can we expect from it:

"We are told that BRITAIN will lose its veto in 50 areas under the new EU treaty. Europe Minister Jim Murphy has told MPs. He said 13 of those will be protected under a special deal. But the remaining 37 involve critical areas.They include the loss of the veto over transport policy, energy, tourism, civil protection, space research, and commercial policy."

So if we take transport could this mean that an edict from Brussels could force us to comply with harmonisation of roads? Could the EU tell us to drive on the right and there would be nothing we could do about it, as the legislation would come from Brussels, and we have no say in the matter? Yes I am afraid that this is true, this could happen, it does not matter that our politicians tell us there is no way it could or would happen, just the simple fact that it is really possible should send shivers down your spine!

Another transport one, could this new treaty mean that we could be forced to change our roadsigns? well yes, we could be forced to display distances in kilometres not miles, and the massive cost would also have to be borne by us!

Does the loss of the Energy Veto mean that should Russia really stop supplying the EU with its gas and oil, that the EU could claim the North Sea Fields as community property? Well yes again it means exactly that. We would of course not be able to claim compensation nor set a tariff ourselves, that would of course be set by our masters in the EU. Now I know that I am being overly simplistic, but the past has shown that no matter how laws are written, unless everything is spelt out, anything is possible!

Given that the wind turbines, the really small ones you can have on your house, don't actually work or provide enough energy to warrant the cost, could the EU force every householder to pay for one? Yes you got it they can! One can also assume that in the long term they could legislate about how many times a week we drive our cars, all in the name of global warming etc etc.

Could they legislate about our tourism, well yes, they could also make it extremely difficult to holiday outside of the EU, all this and more is possible, just think of a freedom that we currently enjoy, then work out how the EU could fuck it up for us, again without our say so.

Am I using scare tactics, possibly but the way that the EU has taken or stolen competences then later given itself legislation to cover its theft, possibly speaks volumes of its future intent. Which to me is the complete subservience to the state of every person within the EU. Of course our ability to get rid of our politicians every four or five years would be pointless, after all they would not be able to stop any of these new laws anymore than they could stop the tide.

Are my above comments all possible or even probable, I don't know, I only think they are possible. It worries me that no parliament can bind its successor, yet the 1972 Act of Accession does exactly this!

'Urgency needed' on knife crime

There must be greater urgency behind the fight to tackle knife crime and anti-social behaviour, the innovation, universities and skills secretary says.
"The knife crime we have seen recently and some of the drunken behavior - we are not where we need to be on those issues," John Denham told BBC News.

When have any of the politicians of any party been on track? Not one of you know what its like in the inner cities, as soon as you get elected you move out, if, I say again if, you have ever even lived in the constituency your supposed to represent!

Mr Denham pointed to "powerful new legislation" to fight the problem.

As ever, its not working try more and more laws, that will not work as you simply do not have the Police manpower available, all this spouted time and time again about “policing and more officers in real terms since we took power” etc etc, we know is just absolute crap, you’re a lying sack of fucktards!

Mr Denham said there were deeper problems underlying the rise in street violence, and perseverance was essential.

Lets see, feral youths running amok, where is the new plastic copper, you know the PCSO's, oops they're hiding as they might get hurt! So why not get the real Police on the streets, not the PCSO’s, Forget the pc brigade, give us our schools and streets back! The “gangs” and trouble causers know they are virtually invincible, because they have no fear! Follow the example of New York and adopt a Zero Tolerance Policy, you know just like the one you have against motorists!

The director of the Victims of Crime Trust, Norman Brennan, said he believed there was now "a national crisis with knife crime".

If youths are going meeting friends in inner cities were they know there are gangs who carry knives, are they not going to carry a knife as protection? Could it possibly be that as the Police no longer guard the streets, youths who are not in a gang, knowing that gang members do carry knives, take them as a form of self protection. Did we as a nation not hand over our right to bear arms, to the government who promised to police and protect us? If the Police can no longer do their allotted task, then we do have the right to bear arms, it is a basic common law right to be able to defend yourself!

Mr Brennan suggested three ways to tackle the problem.

He said there should be mandatory five-year sentences for carrying a knife, mass stop-and-searches and the introduction of national or community service.

Landlord faces trial in Smoking Case...

A BLACKPOOL pub owner accused of flouting the new ban on smoking in public places has made his second appearance in court.

Hugh Howitt, 55, known as Hamish and boss of the Happy Scots Bar on Rigby Road, previously pleaded not guilty to 12 offences of failing to prevent smoking in a smoke free premises. The prosecution - the first of its kind in England since smoking was banned in all enclosed public spaces in the UK - is being brought by Blackpool Council under the Heath Act 2006. Howitt's wife, son and bar manager all pleaded not guilty to charges against them of failing to prevent smoking. His wife Joanne, 41, denied one offence, son Hugh,37, and bar manager Warren Thompson, 25, both denied two offences. All the offences are said to have taken place between July 1 and July 27 . The case was adjourned by Blackpool magistrates to September 5 to fix a trial date.

Drinking Attacked again....

I have said it often enough before, but people who are in positions of implementing the law and in day to day charge of the Police, should if they wish to change the law become politicians, not pontificate from their ivory towers.

The Chief Constable of Cheshire, Peter Fahy has been quoted in the Telegraph, as once again asking for more powers, increasing the legal age to buy alcohol from 18 to 21 and a blanket ban on drinking on the streets apart from accepted areas.

This is because of a Home Office statistic which concludes that the instances of binge drinking are on the increase. Which is in turn leading to an increase of drunken loutish behaviour, Mr Fahy says;
the fact that many of them are drunk causes them to become more aggressive and less willing to accept adult or even police admonishment.

This of course could have nothing at all to do with the fact that, as stated elsewhere
in the article;
There has been an avalanche of new laws to deal with anti-social behaviour. The police have powers to impose curfews, local authorities can designate areas as
non-alcoholic zones, with on-the-spot penalties. From next week, police will
have a new power to disperse teenagers from a specified area.

Or the simple fact that once again people are being pissed off with being told what to do, by a Police force that does not protect us. A Police Force that doesn't really know what it is anymore! When they gave up policing the roads to inanimate speed cameras, walking the beat to driving around in cars, then the short step to policing via CCTV cameras. Where are the real coppers, the real policemen, we see more and more PCSO's out and about in our town centres, albeit only during daylight hours. But a PCSO who has only five weeks training cannot do the job of a real policeman, simply because people do not trust them, they know its policing on the cheap!

The real Police Officers are stuck in the station dealing with government targets, ticking boxes and filling out reams of forms, for 90% of their shift. Whilst the 16 year old PCSO's with 5 weeks training try and cope on the streets! The laws we had we more than adequate for the job, yet they were not utilised effectively.

Why don't the political classes try working with the real police for a month or two, stay away from the wankers in charge who have never done a days policing in their lives. You know the ones like Police Commissioner Sir Ian Blair, who wouldn't know how to arrest a pisshead or druggie without getting his arsehole shafted or having to replace his underwear or trousers!

You know, like when parliament is closed during summer recess, instead of fucking off abroad, get to a local police station, and follow the front line staff for a mnonth. See how long promoting fuckwits like Mr Fahy, (who espouses the governments line day in and day out, without understanding or passing on the reality of the situation), would last

I can't say I'm really surprised by this story about the Police Authority in Thames Valley employing two 16 year olds as PCSO's (Police Community Support Officers).

Apart from a fear of funding which has forced Thames Valley into this possibly unwise direction, it beggars belief that these kids, for that is what they are, would receive any respect from the members of the public.

They are unable to buy alcohol, yet can supposedly take drinks off people, as of the 1st October they cannot buy cigarettes, but will be expected to help enforce the smoking ban. They do not have a driving licence but are expected to Police the streets and deal with parking offences.

Lets face it, they have zero life experience, they know nothing other than school life and possibly how to skive lessons. What experience can they offer or bring to the job?

The real Police Officers do have some modicum of common sense, they are able to asses the situations that arise, they have an ability to step aside, to be impartial, can you honestly say you believe a 16 year old would have that ability? FFS my 23 year old son would have difficulty, not because of his intelligence but because he just doesn't have the life experiences needed to help do the job. How are they going to cope with a domestic argument in the street or any argument taking place outside a pub, how can they be expected to deal with drunks, drug dealers, petty thieves, who one can bet would eat them for breakfast. How are they going to be able to detain a thirty year old football hooligan?

I can see these kids, getting wound up by the kids they went to school with, tormented, taunted and having the piss taken out of them. They do not have the maturity to let it flow as water of a ducks back. So many problems they could and would cause, situations they would worsen by their inability to understand or be impartial. So many dangers that they would have to face simply because they do not have the social skills or basic awareness to be able to cover themselves.

As I understand it any one under 18 cannot be a witness to any legal document, so how can they issue fixed penalty notices? Would this not open a loop hole for people to get out of paying the fines? How would a court view their testimony against a normal upstanding person of the borough? Who would a magistrate believe a snotty 16 year old, who has had 5 weeks training in aspects of the law and Policing, (who would no doubt be bent over and fucked most royally by any decent solicitor) or a usually upstanding member of the community?

Any tickets issued by these kids would be subject to question at each and every opportunity, and ultimately would lessen and cheapen the "role of the Police", in our communities.

This should have been a non starter right from the offset and the fuckwit who actually employed the kids should be horsewhipped.

IPCC Report is out

For those of us able to string two sentences together, and able to look on the Internet for information. The IPCC report has vindicated what most of us thought, that the Police mislead (Fucking lied) the media about the fatal murder of Mr Jean Charles de Menezes.

Having read at the time on the News websites and more specifically the BBC's Have Your Say, I came to the conclusion earlier on that something had gone tragically wrong, the issued Police Statements did not confirm what eye witnesses were telling reporters.

From November 2005 until March 2006 the Police were slow at handing to the IPCC documents for their investigation, whilst this in itself does not constitute a cover up, it certainly hints at one. Any government body under investigation seems to have the ability to deny access or be extremely slow at producing documents, yet let a private company try and it and they are lambasted from pillar to post. Not only that but during the investigation the IPCC was threatened with court action by some of the serving officers, with I might add the full backing of the Metropolitan Police! Which in my opinion goes to show that serving Police Officers seem to have nothing but contempt for the IPCC.

Some of the facts that came out in the Context of the Investigation were as follows:

Jean Charles de Menezes wore summer clothing
Jean Charles de Menezes did not run at any time
Jean Charles de Menezes did not know he was being pursued by the Police
Jean Charles de Menezes did not struggle with Police
Jean Charles de Menezes did not refuse to obey Police Instructions
Jean Charles de Menezes was not challenged by Police

The IPCC stated " The Police knowingly issued misleading and inaccurate information about the shooting." and went on to say "Jean Charles de Menezes did nothing out of the ordinary and there was no action he could have taken to save himself"

The murder of Jean Charles de Menezes, for that is ultimately what it was, is entirely in my opinion due to the knee jerk reaction of the Government, permitting the Metropolitan Police to operate under a "Shoot to Kill" policy for suspected terrorists.

In questions prior to the IPCC investigation starting, a journalist asked if CCTV footage was available that showed what happened to the then alleged terrorist suspect, he was told that film was not available as the cameras were not working at that time.

Yet the IPCC were shown CCTV footage during their investigation, which clearly showed Mr De Menezes did nothing wrong. I wonder if the footage showing the actual shooting was made available or if it mysteriously disappeared.

Sir Ian Blair, Police Commissioner came under some flack from the IPCC, but they could find no evidence that he deliberately misled the media and public, in interviews. They went on to state that senior members of the of the Metropolitan Police Management Team had made serious errors in the way that information was passed to the Commissioner and subsequently to the Press.

Whilst not quite the ringing endorsement that Ian Blair wanted, as it does raise questions about his ability to lead, it at the moment means he gets to keep his job. But as every ex squaddie will know, at the end of the day, Blair is just a Rupert, a face that can toe the party line, without whom the government would be deeper in the shit!

Labour MP calls for Referendum!

Gisela Stuart, Labour MP for Edgbaston in Birmingham, has appeared on BBC News Site, stating that she believes that the Treaty is the constitution by another name. Turns out this lady might know what she is talking about as she was one of the Authors!

" She told MPs: "The red lines that we now say we have secured and therefore don't need a referendum, actually those red lines were already protected in the constitutional treaty on which we were prepared to give a referendum. Nothing has changed.
"This is now a question of trust. It is a question of having given a commitment to a referendum on a document which we say is good for Britain.
"We actually should ask the people to endorse that. If we are so confident it is good, we should have the confidence to ask the people."
Ms Stuart, who was a member of the group which drew up the original constitution, told MPs: "The foreign secretary and the Europe minister, who at the moment deny this treaty is substantial enough that we should be bound by that promise, they are either being deliberately disingenuous or ill-informed.

Oops looks like the chickens are coming home to roost, I for one will be watching to see how Gordo handles this one, as no amount of spin can cancel out the fact she as good as called him a liar lol....

56 Days detention?

In the Press and news are reports that Gordo is considering giving Police an extension to the current 28 days to hold Terrorist without charge.

Now Political shyte out of the way, I am not into the Police, as far as I am concerned they have too many powers as it is. I can understand their calls that they are misunderstood and its a few bad apples etc, which I can just about wear coming from the rank and file coppers. But it gets my goat when ACPO start bouncing up and down about stuff. Because all they seem to say and want it exactly what the Government of the day want, its as if they're reading from the same hymn sheet. If they want to be political, then they should resign and run for office!

Now many of the commentors on the BBC Have Your Say (HYS) have likened the suggested request for this additional power, to the start of a police state. Well I'm really sorry to tell you, we already have one, whats more its been creeping in since NuLabour came to power, and unless you've actually had any dealings with the police you won't have noticed.

Its been insidious a slight creep here and there, one of the first things to go was politeness, instead of "excuse me blah blah blah", now its "and what the fek are you doing". The newer officer are worst for this, or maybe its just the standard of recruits at Lancashire Constabulary.

The second thing to appear is the attitude, now maybe its living in Blackpool, and having the Party conferences here, but stop to drop someone off in your car, and its a mouthful of abuse, park on yellow lines and within 20 seconds, little hitlers are there mouthing off, and champing at the bit. Look lads I know its fucking boring stood around all day, but Jeez lighten up a little, I mean do I look like a feking terrorist? If you have the temerity to answer them back, its threat time, the "I can have you down the station for wasting police time, you'll be there for hours, so lets do us both a favour and you fuck off now Right!" Yes its petty stuff, and probably is more to do with party conferences, but its still there afterwards, there is less politeness than there used to be. The threat is always a P4 or P5 what were called "Breach of the Peace", which basically is a catch all for the police to arrest you if you don't or won't do as your told.

Anyhow, the Police want these new powers in order to be able to control us, and it won't be long before they are using the threat of being banged up for 56 days, even though its supposed to be aimed at terrorists. One of my friends Dave, used to be a special and still has mates in the Force, a few of whom I have met. The consensus of opinion amongst the older PC's, the ones aged around 40, is keep your head down, do the last few years and get your pension, leave the current crop of yes men and gung ho merchants to it! Real Policing died years ago!

The older officer the one who has seen it all, knew when to apply common sense and turn a blind eye, is now leaving fed up of the shit that comes from the top, the targets, the constant alienation of the Police from the general public by the powers that be.

I am an ex police officer. If you can't garner enough evidence to charge a suspect in less than 28 days you need taking off the case and the suspect needs to be bailed. When I was a Met Police Officer during the height of the PIRA Terrorist Campaign we managed to do this in 7 days. There is a sensible case for a change in the law which permits further questioning of a suspect in relation to the same offence after charge but this is not the change I suspect the Government wants.

I suspect that having been in the line of fire, but unable to comment whilst serving, he's just glad to be out of it all.

I really do think that 7 days is too long, if they have the evidence, get him/her to court, if they don't then tough, keep working until you do have it. But to curtail someones freedom for 56 days on a "they might be a terrorist" or "the intelligence showed" is just not on. Just hink on how much shit you would be in with regards to Mortgage payment, loss of job, stigma attached etc etc, after all they name the suspects, and when they're released how many are given an apology? Would you like it to happen to you?

I have/had a JackRussell terrier, it lives in Blackpool with my eldest sons. Now one of the reasons I believe in re-incarnation is the dog. Nope I don't mean the bugger can talk, or do any stupid doggie tricks.

Its just that the dog likes to have a drink, he will at a pinch drink red wine, actually nicking out of any glass put on the floor. But he prefers lager, not really a posh dog as any lager would do, usually Fosters or Carling. He hates spirits with a vengeance, and will run rather than drink whisky or vodka. The dog even has his own party trick, you remember a while back all the rage seemed to be the small bottles of French beer, Beer D'ore or something it was called, anyway the dog could actually open these small bottles with his teeth and drink the beer from the bottle. Quiet literally lifting the bottle in his teeth. Now don't get me wrong he was a clever dog because he always knew when he had had enough, usually two or three bottles. Then he would settle down for a sleep. Usually this really impressed any of Craig's mates that he had brought home with him, even the girls thought it was cute.

Now having an 18+ year old living at home invariably, he enjoys a drink, and when the pubs are emptying he brings home a curry, which as his eyes are usually too big for his belly, means the dog gets to finish whats left. Craig has on occasion been coerced by friends to eat gradually stronger and stronger curries, with no ill effects and the dog got the left overs.

After a night out Craig and his mate Ashley, being full of themselves and the beer that the Burlington sells, started an eat the hottest curry going argument, now most blokes will have done the same at some point in their lives. You know buy the hottest and just try and force the bugger down, Ashley being rather more sensible one on this occasion, settled for a Vindaloo but offered to pay for Craig's curry but only on condition that he finished it completely.

Craig ordered a Fahl, now in my youth I have had a few curries, some real bum burners, but had never heard of a Fahl. So anyway Craig and Ashley arrive back, Craig opens the cans as Ashley dishes out the grub. Being a rather nosy sod I asked what they had bought, and actually tried a forkful of the Fahl. This stuff is fucking lethal, it melts the fillings out of your teeth, you dont actually feel it going down your throat as the fire in your mouth is seeping through to your brain! It felt like my taste buds were melting! When it actually hits the bottom of your stomach, its very close to have a nuclear bomb going off, in short the stuff is fucking horrendous, you could clean drains out with it, it would decimate the Caustic Soda trade over night if they bottled it! This is not something you could ever eat sober, you would have to be really really sozzled to even contemplate trying.

They come through to the lounge with beers and food, having just tried the Fahl I am more than interested to see how Craig actually gets on with it. The first 30 to 40 seconds he appears to be doing well, then the sweat starts upon his brow, his face gains a rosy tinge and he quaffs half a beer. Much laughter from myself and Ashley, and Craig gamely tries again. Now I will be fair he managed about a quarter of the plateful he had in front of him, before giving up. So only for that he earned some kudos, but what happened next was a shocker for all of us.

Having put his plate on the floor, to gulp more beer in order to put out the fire in his mouth and belly, the dog, proceeds to eat the Fahl, words couldn't express our shock, Craig got out his mobile and proceeded to film the dog eat the Fahl! "He's got tears in his eyes!" Craig said, and he had, the dogs eyes were weeping, but he wouldn't stop eating the Fahl! The dog cleared the plate, he ate every scrap and then licked the plate clean! We were all shocked and amazed, the dog then went up on his hind legs, his front paws on Craig's knees and burped in Craig's face, honestly had you been there you would have reached the same conclusion, the dog was saying "Wimp!! that's how you do it!"

After discussion we believe that the Dog has been here before, simply because of his attitude when he burped at craig as if to say thats how you do it!

The dog now has a massive reputation amongst Craig's friends and acquaintances as being the "Curry Dog"!

TB testing restarted

A school in Luton Bed's, Southfield Junior School, is restarting TB testing, but only for about 114 of its pupils. This has happened because one child has presented with full blown Tuberculosis (TB).

Now in the UK we had all but eradicated TB, which if left untreated can and does kill, so we ask what has caused the recent increase in cases?

Quite simply, the influx of immigrants both illegal and from the poorer members of the EU, have brought the TB virus back to the UK. Other countries who do not have a vaccination policy for TB thereby putting their own populations at risk, have now put our population at risk.

Whilst the Health Protection Agency (HPA) try and put a brave face on the cases that are arising, and raising some serious concerns about public health. They are now aiming vaccinations only to targeted people, or those most at risk "The new programme will identify and vaccinate babies and older people who are most likely to catch the disease, especially in those living in areas with a high rate of TB or whose parents or grandparents were born in a TB high prevalence country."

Yet again we as a Nation are seeing a wide spread increase of our scant NHS resources used to combat a disease we had as a Nation all but eradicated, and all due to the current NuLabour governments open door policy on immigration.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has found strains of TB that are resistant to antibiotics and drugs used to treat TB, how long will it be before our shores are home to this new strain? If it is not already here!

This problem is unfortunately all too endemic with the current NuLabour governments style of operation, the inability to think through the cause and effect of knee jerk policies, which are now beginning to seriously hit home.

Will Gordon Brown be any different? Well as someone who was chancellor for 10 years and therefore in the forefront of all NuLabour policy decisions, he is as culpable as Tony Bliar for the state the country is in. No matter how he tries to spin its a new start etc etc, its still the same old NuLabour at the helm, running round like headless chickens. Or as a more verbose person once said, "Their heads are so far up their own arses they're eating lunch twice!"

Oyston attends Labour fundraiser

The owner of Blackpool Football Club, one time owner of Lancashire Life and the Red Rose Radio Stations, attended a Labour Party fundraiser at Wembley.

The news, both BBC and the tabloids all led with the headline "Convicted Rapist Attends Labour Party Bash"

Now living in Blackpool at the time, I remember the widespread disbelief when he was convicted, letters were written to MP's, the media etc etc. It was even mentioned in the House of Commons .

Just before Oyston went to trial, the rules relating to the rape cases were changed, and when I say just before I mean literally 5 days before.

A lot of people myself included wanted to know how a person could be charged with serious sexual assault years after the offence had taken place, now these days cases such as this are becoming more and more accepted, especially with regards to the Catholic Church and abuse. But in 1996, it was virtually unheard of, Oystons case centred around allegations of assault against a model he was reported to have committed whilst she was in his car and then later at his home Claughton Hall near Lancaster.

It came out at the trial that the young lady/model gave Oyston a blow job in the back of his car, then when they arrived back at his home she went to his bedroom and they had sex. A few years later the lady then went to the Police alleging rape, her friend who was both in the car and also in the bedroom at Claughton Hall, denied any offences took place.

I don't think Oyston raped the lady/model at the time, but he was convicted in court, he appealed and lost, he went on to serve 4 years of a 6 year sentence, only being released on licence after forcing a Judicial review over the Parole Boards refusal to release him on licence, as he refused to admit to his guilt and showed no remorse for his crime. He won the judicial review and was released on licence.

Now whether he did or did not commit the crime, as far as I am concerned he has paid for it, both in terms of losing his liberty and loss of parts of his businesses, his radio stations were taken off him as he was deemed an unfit person to hold a radio licence.

He has become somewhat of a recluse since his release from prison, and rarely ventures out. Occasional outings to watch Blackpool play usually at home, the most people have seen of him.

Now his name has again been dragged through the mud, not I think in anyway to hurt him, but as a deliberate smear against the Labour party! Now I hate the NuLabour party as much as the next man, I believe they have sold this country down the river and have decimated our rights and freedoms, but to use a man who has always maintained his innocence, who did his time, who had to fight to gain parole, and obtain and win a Judicial Review to gain his freedom, deserves to be left alone in peace. Not to be used as a pawn in the medias attempts to get Brown and NuLabour.

I've been thinking, not too hard, so please don't get worried, but I have been thinking about how we could make things simple, not just for me but for everyone in the UK.

Taxes. Everyone agrees we pay too much tax, and until we actually get to grips with politicians and the civil servants that run it, things are not going to change. We need proposals that are easy to manage, apply to everyone and that are simple. The biggest drain on our taxes is actually the massive civil service and government itself, so we need to reduce it, and I don't mean by piddling amounts, I believe that government and the civil service could be reduced to 25% of its current size. Without loss of service, as most of them are not really needed. We need a tax office, to collect 15% of everyones earned income. This tax rate is fixed, no increases, however, no tax to be paid on the 1st 10k of earnings. Business Tax to be set at 25%, no offsetting of tax payable to be allowed. Personal Investments from stocks and shares, interest on bank accounts/saving to all be taxed at the same rate of 15%. I think most people would like the idea of one flat uniform rate for both personal and businesses. We would all be paying the same portion of our income.

VAT. This is I think a simple tax that is used incorrectly by government, yes we need VAT, but not to pay to the EU which is the use at the moment, VAT payable on everything except food and water.
This tax would be reduced to 10% and fixed at that rate. The monies raised would not go to Central Government coffers, but would pay for the local councils, thus enabling us to abolish council tax. Each town would have have a proportion of the VAT raised based on a per head scheme, ie bigger population more funding.

National Insurance. This money is to be ringfenced and used only to pay for the NHS and pensions.The amount to be set at 7.5% of income.

Road Fund Licence. This is to be ringfenced and 70% of monies to be spent on roads, the other 30% to be spent on public transport.

Immigration. All illegal immigrants to be rounded up and deported to their country of origin, no if's or buts!

European Union. Now the only people that appear to want further intigration with the EU are politicians, so we need to know just what the actual people of the UK really want. The referendum held in the 70's was a farce, the people were lied to and told the EEC was only to be a common market, not a federal superstate. So we withdraw until a proper referendum is held.

Media and words?

Since starting online back in 1999, I have watched less and less Television, sometimes even missing the news. I don't and didn't follow the soap's, not from active dislike, but they as a genre do not interest me personally.

If anything I watch mainstream TV that I assume all of us do, a little bit of House, CSI (not all of them I cannot stand CSI:Miami)Casualty, Holby City, so I suppose they are dramas, but with a factual element. I used to have sky but that was mainly for the kids, and I used to watch more factual programmes, History, National Geographic etc, than I did on mainstream TV.

Now having a youngster, at nearly 10 months old, who can crawl and move about rather quickly. Sometimes quicker than these old bones of mine are able to. I have taken a step I never took with the other kids, in order to let his food settle and to avoid horrible reddy orange stains on the carpet, (why is baby food always red or orange?) we plonk him down in front of the TV. Cbeebies is the channel he watches, channel 71 on freeview, I don't believe he understands, and it is only for 10 15 mins, whilst I clean up his meal time mess.

Half listening to the programme, half paying attention to what I was doing, I suddenly stopped, the Tweenies were talking about global warming and recycling and the need to do our bit. This shocked me, the programme is aimed at pre-school children, and they were teaching that global warming is a fact, and the comments were all one sided. Saying people that didn't recycle were bad people.

After putting Riley down for his afternoon nap I flicked back to Cbeebies, and Barnaby was on, talking about going on a picnic, the next thing a lady appeared asked Barnaby his "menu" for his picnic,then told him what was and wasn't good for him to take with him. All natural foods, 5 a day veg, less salt, sugar free etc etc, convincing the bear to adapt his diet, to a more acceptable version, or should I say a more politically correct one.

I watched the programme till the end, then came Balamory, again a similar thing all recycling, healthy diet etc etc,

WHAT THE FUCK!!! As far as I am aware part of being a pre-school kid is having FUN, learning as all about co-ordination, colours, music, nursery rhymes, words, playing with water, sand, clay etc etc.

Not to listen to propaganda, about global warming, recycling, I thought that the BBC was supposed to put both sides of any story, or does it not matter when it is indoctrinating children? Something else I have noticed, mainly on Boogie Babies, (really don't ask) how come if the muslim population only makes up 3-4% of the population, why are 45% of the stories/music on Boogie Babies are about the muslim culture?

Am I just being paranoid or is there really a form of indoctrination going on with our kids???

It seems that Professor Peto is in the news again, this time the Daily Express, where he makes the following statements:

One of the world's leading experts on the effect of tobacco said the ban could prevent up to half a million deaths a year.

Professor Sir Richard Peto made the forecast based on the experience of the Republic of Ireland, where cigarette sales fell by around 17% after its ban.

A similar trend in England could lead to 1.5 million people quitting smoking, he said, adding: "Half of all smokers are going to be killed by tobacco. If a million people stop smoking who wouldn't otherwise have done so then maybe you'll prevent half a million deaths."

Joe Jackson I believe has done his research well, and I have copied a relevant portion for you to read.

Lung cancer is the disease most strongly associated with smoking, though even this is a statistical rather than a causative link. In other words, it has been statistically shown that smokers are more likely to get lung cancer, rather than scientifically shown that the cancer is specifically caused by the smoking. This is a more important distinction than it might seem. Much of the antismokers’ case is based on statistics, and statistics is not science. It does make sense - so long as you don’t mind bullying people out of their pleasures - to try to bring down the rate of lung cancer by getting people to quit smoking. But the evidence linking smoking with lung cancer is much less convincing than we are led to believe. For one thing, there is much disagreement about what the actual risk factor is.

The general consensus seems to reflect the pioneering studies of Professor Sir Richard Doll in the 1950s and 60s, which are still regarded as ‘benchmarks’. Doll reckoned that about 160 in 100,000 smokers developed lung cancer as opposed to 7 in 100,000 nonsmokers; so you have about a 24 times greater risk if you smoke. This can also be expressed as ‘2,400%’. But beware of estimates of ‘increased risk,’ especially when expressed in percentages; they’re a good sign that someone is trying to frighten, rather than to inform. If you buy 25 lottery tickets instead of one, your chances of winning go up by 2,500%. But though the number sounds impressive, your actual chances of winning are still minuscule.

Likewise, if Prof Doll was right, you still have a 99.8% chance of not getting lung cancer. This is nothing more or less than a re-presentation, or re-packaging, of the same data. But it immediately sounds a lot less scary. Especially if smoking is something you love.

Smoking again !!!

The majority of people reading these comments are obviously online, I would ask them to read and research upon the supposed effects of passive smoking. Use the internet in the way I believe it should be used, to inform and enlighten!

There is or appears to be little correlation between passive smoking and illness, they (anti smoking campaigners) have tried and tried to find a link. They cannot, all there is, is statistics, which as everyone knows are not reliable and can be changed to suit ones way of thinking.

I find it rather strange that Professor Robert West, who is vehemently against smokers, who produces article after article, has had his work funded by the NRT (Nicotine Replacement Therapy) manufacturers, now I am not suggesting he has done anything wrong, but surely, any investigations and research, should not be paid for by companies that have an agenda.

LORD WAKEHAM of the Economic Affairs Committee has made the following comments:

"The foremost authority in this area - Sir Richard Peto, professor of medical statistics at Oxford - told the Committee that the risks from passive smoking are small and difficult to measure.

"Given the miniscule level of risk, the blanket ban on smoking in public places is a case of using the proverbial sledgehammer to obliterate, rather than crack, a rather small and insignificant nut.

"As the risks from passive smoking are tiny, the direct impact on public health is likely to be so small as to be immeasurable.

Yet the same Professor Peto, quoted by Lord Wakeham, has released a statement

"Cigarette smoke is the most important cause of cancer in the world and so the exposure of non-smokers to it is going to cause some risk of death.

"But there is reasonable disagreement as to how big that risk is: smokers kill more smokers than non-smokers.

"However, if this ban helps people who want to stop to manage to do so then it could save a lot of lives and prevent a lot of premature deaths.

"Smoking is still responsible for about 20-25% of all deaths in middle age, and most smokers who die in middle age wouldn't have died if they hadn't smoked.

"Half of all smokers are going to be killed by tobacco. If a million people stop smoking who wouldn't otherwise have done so then maybe you'll prevent half a million deaths.
Now if he made both statements, which one is true, or is he doing as most of the other researchers do, jumping on the band wagon to ensure his funding, ie. towing the party mantra? Or maybe it is as I suspect, he is scaremongering, he doesn't know, has no idea, and he will be long dead and buried before any conclusive evidence comes to light!

Smoking Ban.....

In Blackpool, there is a small back street bar called the "Crazy Scots Fun Palace", essentially a Scottish bar, but more often filled with sports fans of all types not just your average jock on holiday.

The landlord/owner of this bar has declared that from Sunday 1st July he and his regulars will be holding a "Smoke In", the bar will not close and he will defy the Smoking Ban.

A regular at the bar who does not wish to be named has stated, "We are all really pissed off about this ban, if it was banned in food outlets we could understand, but to take the choice away from ordinary folks who want a pint and a beer is f**king out of order! and the government can go and kiss my Lilly white arse!!"

He went on to mention that he believed the police were not going to police the ban, and as no-one had seen fit to give the supposed council snoopers, powers of detention or arrest, "FFS you don't even have to give your name to the fuckers, so they canny fine you!" His mates/ fellow drinkers went on to say, "Good on the landlord for standing up for the working mans rights to have a beer and a fag!"
The landlord was unavailable for comment, but a member of the bar staff stated, "that he had the intention if fined (£2500.00) of not paying it, and taking it as far as he could through the courts! Anyway I doubt any fucker would get through the door with a camera! Or at least not be able to develop anything other than shots of his own bowels!"

It remains to be seen whether Blackpool Council will be sending in enforcement officers into, what could be a volatile and possibly hostile bar, aimed at making a stand against this law, that is hated by smokers. After all when smokers were asked to stop smoking in parts of pubs set aside for non smokers, they had no problem with complying, but it seems non smokers are not so magnanimous!

This maybe the start of a more concerted effort by publicans to change the law, even Dave West, Millionaire Nightclub owner, has hired Cherie Blair QC, in order to mount a legal challenge against the smoking ban!

As a smoker who has tried and failed to stop smoking in the past, I can see no reason for not allowing the Landlords to decide whether they wanted a smoking or non smoking pub. But then the government couldn't allow that, as that would have left very few opting for a non smoking pub.

European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso has urged Britain not to hold a referendum on any new treaty agreed at this week's EU summit.

Point one it has fuck all to do you Mr. El- Presidente, the thing is we brits kinda like things done by the book. Well the UK general Public does, that’s why if one of our Politicians are caught lying and cheating, they get the order of the boot!

He said it was up to the British people but he could not see why the country which exported democracy to the world would not respect its own Parliament.

Point two, Yeah we took democracy throughout the world, but unlike the democracy the EU practices, we don’t have to put up with fuckwit politicians who are only out to line their own pockets, mmm sounds just like you El-Presidente, you see once again, if the Political Parties do not do as we wish, we tell them to FUCK OFF, which surprisingly is something that we can NOT do with you, nor the unelected EU!! But let me explain further you half witted dago bastardos, do the math, 700 politicians, approx 40,000 police, about 4,000 soldiers still in UK, versus 30 million pissed off voters! Now you get the idea??? We have come to the end of our tether, with venal, corrupt, smarmy two faced lying bastard politicians, we have had enough.

Mr. Barroso warned Britain not to block progress towards a treaty.

If the Treaty is as everyone suspects just the renamed EU Constitution, then too right we are going to block it you thick cunt!

Bonanza for Government my Arse!!

If as a working person you acquire through your hard work and diligence enough money to secrete away, either for old age or to fund help your family when you have died, good luck to you. Well done, I admire your hard work and thrifty nature. If you as a average person see the way the tide is turning and decide to bank offshore, to keep more of your hard earned money, again good luck to you. I do not begrudge you your money, I do not envy that you have more than me.

What I do abhor, is the Tax man, or HMRC (Her Majesty's' Revenue and Customs)he is a thief, a bully and a drain on everyone! He produces nothing, he has more powers than the Police, to all intents and purposes he is the strong arm man of the government.

Now through hard work and savings if I bought a villa in Spain, or any other country, and decided to rent the villa out, I am expected to pay tax on that money! Can anyone tell me why? I saved and paid tax on the money, I used it to buy a holiday home in a warmer climate, and am able to rent it out in order to recoup some of the money I have invested. I took the risk, spent the hours researching, looking at properties, spending time and effort to buy a decent place at a decent price. So why should I give any money to Mr Brown? He has had no input, not loaned me the money, yet he expects a cut? If I use my money to buy another property in another country, who's business is it, no-ones, just mine!

We as a population are expected to clear our debts, if we borrow we have to repay, we pay tax on our earnings, tax on our loans, tax on our insurance, etc, ad infinitum, there is no item in this country that we do not pay tax on,either indirect or direct.

Now if I won the lottery, and decided that I like the idea of my money, won fair and square, to gain me interest above what the UK banks pay, then I too would consider offshore banking, notwithstanding the fact that, the UK banks have an obligation and a duty to inform the tax man of how much money is in your accounts, which I personally think is abhorrent, my money is my money, not the governments or Mr G Browns. Because we are apart of the EU, now even the EU banks have to give details of UK peoples accounts to the UK Taxman. See I cannot work out why I have to pay tax on money earned in another country. It is pure and simply greed, the government wants as much of our money as it can get, it has no reason for taxing that money, as long as it is not brought into this country.

Now in order to try get people to admit that they have money outside of this country, invested and working for them, the HMRC has decided to offer an amnesty for people with offshore accounts. This is what pisses me off about the government, always chasing the small fry and never going after big business, because as we all know every bully is a coward at heart. I bet every penny I have got, that Mr Blair will pay less tax than he should on the reported millions he will earn on his retirement from the PM's job. I expect every penny he earns will be declared!!! Yeah right, he will employ tax consultants, lawyers and accountants, who will enable him to keep more of his money than we can. There lies the problem, there are ways and means of getting out of paying tax and if you can afford to pay for the information, you can do it, and there is nothing the taxman can do about it. After all a tax can never be retrospective, so changes to the tax system can only come into effect on the day they are made law.

Taxation has been around a long time in one way or another, Income tax has only been around since the 1700's, when it was brought into being to pay for a war. But seeing how much they could get off us, the government decided to keep it going. Over the years it has steadily risen, sometimes reduced, by never actually gone down, as figures have been fiddled, to make it look like your paying less.

So what does our tax actually get us, what do we get out of paying it? Not a great deal really, free and just society, yeah right pull the other one.

As it happens I have not got property in Spain, but it is my intention someday to buy abroad, and when that day comes I will not tell the taxman anything.

Now lets say, we trust our Councils, okay,....... okay, in reality I know we don't, but lets just pretend for a moment.... ready???

If a council discovered that underneath the town, there were massive and potentially dangerous amounts of Methane gas, locked in old coal mines, logic would surely dictate that something be done. People would be warned, police and fire crews notified, ambulances etc etc. Something one would think would be done to alleviate the threat, the council would actively do something! You think they would wouldn't you?

You would be wrong! The Express tells more!

Now doesn't that leave a nice warm fuzzy feeling in your stomach, or maybe just a blazing sense of disbelief!!!

What takes the biscuit is this comment from a spokesman for the council, talk about a fuckwit of the 1st order.... “If we go around telling people they live in a high-risk area they will panic and we have a duty not to blight house prices.” The bloke needs shooting! You have a duty to protect the citizens and residents of your town you stupid fuck!!! You know the ones who pay your wages!!!

Police and guns!

The Daily Express is calling for all officers to be armed.

Talk about knee jerk reaction, to actively call for the police to be armed as a matter of routine is very wrong.

I vaguely remember a tale from an American Police Officer, who when asked about when he would draw his weapon replied "only as a very last resort", when asked to explain further he stated, "once my pistol is out of my holster I only have two options, not to shoot, or to shoot and kill. I refuse to limit my options, whilst my gun remains in its holster I have many options, often just talking and giving the guy chance to reflect, is enough to bring the person round to my way of thinking". This from a land were we expect the Police to be gung ho!

I am against our Police Force being armed for a number of reasons,

. It encourages criminals to arm themselves.
. It makes Police lazy, far to easy to pull a gun.
. We no longer have the death penalty, so why should a Police Officer be Judge, Jury and executioner.
. To many mistakes have been made by Armed Officers.
. We have unfortunately lost most of the rank and file officers, who knew how to control a situation, you know the real coppers, the modern younger officers tend to go for the gung ho approach to policing.
. Just how many Officers have been killed by firearms, in the line of duty? Now set that against how many people Police have shot by mistake or caught in crossfire, or even just got it plain wrong!
. Police are trialing tazers in parts of the UK, why are they not nationwide?

Many will say the Police are doing an important job, and deserve to be armed to protect themselves, but the Police do make too many mistakes and better that ten men escape and go free than one innocent person is killed. We have had people shot for carrying chair/table legs, mistaken identity and then the most heinous crime, a man murdered by Police after a shoot to kill policy was allowed by the Government. These mistakes are just that mistakes, but if the Police were not armed they could not have happened. Now don't get me wrong if an armed blag is going down, then an Armed response is warranted, but I have a do problem with armed police as I believe that the training is insufficient! They seem to lack any common sense and appear to be policing in fear whilst armed!

The papers recently reported that one woman was killed, whilst the police waited outside, the suggestion was that whilst there was a chance of them being shot or injured, they wouldn't make a move and the woman died, whilst across the pennines a man was shot for carrying a samurai sword, when the neither the police not the general public were in any danger!

I noticed this starting about 9 or 10 years ago, my youngest, well he was then, was just an eight year old playing in the street, with a plastic gun borrowed from a friend, when a routine police car pulled up and told him if he didn't put the toy gun away he could end up shot and dead, no niceties, just plain terrifying to a youngster, bringing a climate of fear to a youthful mind. This in an area where gun crime is very very rare.

I believe that all guns should be outlawed completely, anyone found with a loaded weapon should be given life, but at the same time, any officer shooting an innocent person should also be given life! Back when I think it was the Forest Gate arrests in London, a youth was shot, the officer concerned was involved in another shooting a short time after, and nothing was done, no reprimand... nothing.

I ask can the Police be trusted with firearms.. No I think not!

The Times has the latest proposals from our sad, tired, neglected, work shy and corrupt government.

Personally I like the odd pint or two with the lads on a Friday night, nothing to heavy, a chance to put the world to rights, have a moan, even discuss politics and occasionally women! etc etc.

Now the Royal College of Physicians have commented on the fact that we as a nation are supposedly drinking too much at home.

Not content with the just the Royal College of Physicians, now the BMA are butting in, the esteemed Vivienne Nathanson, the head of science and ethics at the BMA, has said "It is not the nanny state. It is about informed choices. It is hard for the average person to work out how many units are in a drink these days. Glasses of wine are much larger than they used to be and many beers and wines are much stronger”.

My my, what a patronising windbag! So it is hard for the average person to work out how many units are in a drink these days? Like fuck it is you stupid twat, what Professor Nathanson, and all the other fuckwits (Fuckwit = lots of degrees/qualifications but unable to tie own shoelaces) fail to realise is, ITS NONE OF YOUR DAMM BUSINESS!!!! I mean when will you learn, we like to have a drink, we like to be sociable, even the romans, called us a nation of pissheads!!!

Right the revenue from 2006 for all booze Just to get the costs out of the way!

Beer & cider duties: £3.2 bn
Spirits duties: £2.3 bn
Wine duties: £2.3bn

A total of 7.8 Billion pounds, not counting the VAT on top which would take it to a massive revenue earner of over 10 billion pounds, paid to the scrounging scots git brown. This amount dwarfs the minuscule costs of 1.7 billion treating Alcohol related diseases on the NHS!

Purely from my own fiscal point of view, if I purchase a drink in a Pub, be it beer or wines/spirits, it is understood that I pay more than the said drink is actually worth, I pay a higher price for the comfort of drinking in the pub. If I wished for cheap ale, I could and can go to the local Tesco, Morrisons et al.

Now as we age and head into our dotage, the local pub is less and less our "type of place" too many youngsters, too much loud music etc etc. Just as in our 40's we realise that clubbing is silly and make way for the youngsters coming through, as we get older our intake levels drop, we grow up and cease to be clubbers. The occasional forays to the dance floors begin to take place at weddings and birthdays.

However just because we are older and less inclined to go to the local, does not mean we dislike drink, we can still have a drink at home, but the Royal College of Physicians and now the BMA have called for drink prices to be increased, to stop the older elements of society "drinking to much"!

My parents ran pub's both managed and tenanted, when they left the pub trade, that didn't mean they gave up drinking, for years my dad brewed his own wine, and a very potent brew it was! Who needed beer when three glasses of his home made wine could put you on your back! They never drank to excess, just a few drinks whilst watching what passes for entertainment on the TV.

This as we get older is getting to be, if it was ever anything else, the norm. We have paid our taxes, our dues, contributed to the fabric of society, we do not go out and get bladdered, steaming or pished as a fart. We do not call on ambulances, we cause no fights, we do not urinate in the street, we do not go round effing and blinding it at the top of our voices. We remain safe in our homes, drinking and relaxing, in front of the TV watching the dumbed down dross that passes for entertainment or playing cards, even the odd game of scrabble.

So why this insistence from those who always presume they know better, to once again try to foist their values upon us. If they are short of friends, have boring lives, that is their fault, they failed to mix, failed to have any personality. Because the oh so righteous do gooders who infest our country are really just a lot of aging sad sack bastards who do not know when to keep their collective gob's shut!

If our elderly and pensioners want to drink at home, what the fucking hell makes it your business. During their working lives they had to put up with all your stupid petty rules and regulations, they jumped through your stupid hoops, they paid for the NHS, they paid for your schooling, they were lied to but paid anyway for the EU.

Now they have retired, they Do Not have to put up with you! You have not earned the right to comment on their lives, they are above you, you have nothing to teach them, and even more so, you talk of nothing that they need to know! Other than perhaps giving another reason for the (robbing bastard) chancellor to raise more taxes, by upping the prices in the supermarkets and off licences, to pay for an illegal war! Plus now that the smoking ban is to come into force, which will induce more people to give up, the revenue from fags will go down, and the tax on booze will go up. After all we have to pay for Tony's pension pot don't we?

Apart from the cheerful people who can afford to pop over to France on the ferry and thus stick two fingers up at Mr Brown, as they smoke and drink themselves merry on cheaper fags and booze, the less well off will buy even more off the so called smugglers, and brown will again attempt to convince us all that it pays for terrorists and aids organised crime. (Well sorry to say the most organised criminals in this country are the current crop of NuLabour Scottish mafia, who are bleeding the country dry as well as selling it to the EU) Some of us will just brew our own, which is more likely to be stronger and a hell of a lot cheaper, ooerr and no revenue to pay either. See that's whats so special about NuLabour, they cannot think through the consequences of their not so clever ideas.

But I digress, if my mum wants to drink a bottle of vodka over two years, two months, two weeks, or even two days, who's fucking business is it? After years of paying into a system, which repeatedly shafted her for more and more of her hard earned money. Has she not earned the right to do whatever the bloody hell she wants?

So to all you Physicians who profess to know so much, get off your fucking high horses, get out get a hobby, or even try and get a life. Stop kowtowing to the politicians, begging for knighthoods. Bloody hell, you should have bought one like the rest of tony's mates. Just leave me and mine alone, if nothing else all the do gooders have proved, is once they are let loose on anything they, as politicians ( who have no room to talk Re: Boozing) do, fuck it all up. It ain't broke, it don't need fixing..... now piss off and die!! I mean have they ever stopped to think, its these petty rules and regulations and the do gooders that are driving people to drink? We have a life, and we also have the freedom to live it as we see fit!

20 MPH speed limits on the roads?

Lets see, do drivers drive on the pavement? No didn't think so.

The majority of accidents are caused by people walking into the road without looking! Whilst speed could contribute slightly, the simple fact is the pedestrian should not have been there!

Be it a youngster dashing between parked cars, running across the roads, or even city centre pedestians and their refusal to walk an extra 30 yards to the nearest pelican/zebra crossing.

Lets put the blame back where it truly belongs, at the feet of the pedestrian. 50% of deaths of 18 to 25 years olds is caused by them drunkenly walking/stumbling into the road, after kicking out time at the local pub/club yet its always the motorist who is demonised, always speed put on trial.

If there was a crime of jay walking as in America, would the incidences of motorists hitting pedestrians reduce, of course it would, it would force pedestrians, to use the pavements and designated crossings.The very place that they are safest, yet they insist on encroaching onto the roads in a mistaken belief it is every motorists responsiblity to watch out for them.

Whilst I can and do accept that a car travelling at 30 mph is more likely to seriously injure a child than one travelling at 20mph, if the child takes the risk and gambles on being able to run cross the road, and then loses, whose fault is it? Should the child and his her parents castigate the driver, when its the childs own fault?

One wonders why???

The government via Mrs Beckett has been critised by fellow MP's about the lack of meetings to discuss the EU and the governments approach to it!

Both she and Mr Hoon have been very reluctant to come forward to discuss governmental policy on the EU.

BBC news takes up the story what surprises me is that it has taken members of Parliament so long to actually ask what the bloody hell is going on!

As ever its all down to what Blair wants and no-one else even gets a look in, I personally just hope that he (Blair) does not sign the treaty proposed for the end of june, as all it is, is the rejected constitution by another name and through the back door.

A little bit of despotism took Blair pretty far, one hopes the tribe that made him a chief in Africa during his visit, insist the fucker stays there!!

Alcohol Health Warnings

They have the smokers where they want them, so now they are starting on the drinkers.

Alcoholic drinks will carry new health warning labels by the end of 2008 under a voluntary agreement between ministers and the drinks industry.

The proposed warning labels will include the amount of units each drink contains and words such as "know your limits" or "drink responsibly".

What utter utter hogwash, I would love to meet up with one of the pricks that come up with these brainwaves, and shake them warmly and aggressively by the throat!

I am an adult, I pay my taxes, run my home and finances far more effectively than the government can run the country. What I drink, how much and when is my affair, nothing at all to do with anyone else. I do not need nannying by a government that couldn't find its arse with both hands and a route map!

I rather think that the youth, who I believe the scheme is aimed at will not heed the warnings, they will use the information to get smashed/pissed quicker and cheaper.

Now just because Messrs Brown and Blair the chuckleless brothers and their dollybirds (gags at the thought)Hewitt and Jowell, and the assorted do gooders can't handle a drink without losing control, they believe everybody is the same. What they fail to realise is a succession of governments have stolen, thieved, lied and basically shafted everyone over the last 250 years! Leaving little else to do to relieve the sheer monotony of being controlled by the freaks in government!

Better to have us pissed than smashing down the doors and killing the fuckwits in their beds! They should leave well enough alone.

Land of Racists?

Coming from a strong working class background, and still living in a predominantly working class neighbourhood. I have over the last few days seen and heard things that I thought I would never hear.

I have heard grannies, grandads, middle aged couples even youngsters only just reaching voting age, and they all say, that they have voted BNP. When asked why, the most common reply is: "this country is going to the dogs and if the politicians will not listen to me, then I will vote for BNP!" More and more I am hearing in the local pub, from usually polite, well mannered people, that they believe that this government is making them racist! They don't accept the fact that the BNP is a racist party, to their minds its normal English people trying to look after the English, and "anyway if they do get in it cant be worse than being ruled by English hating jock twats!"

That they are not being asked and that they are being forced to accept multiculturalism in all its many and varied guises, is changing peoples outlook, they are questioning what they receive for their support of this country. They read of new community buildings, that are being built for the use of the community, yet they are Mosques/Temples and so Non muslims cannot use them! They are seeing first hand that we as a nation are bending over backwards to accommodate a religion that advocates putting to death all non believers! They are seeing areas that are actually using Sharia laws over British Laws! They are finding out that they have less rights than the "Muslims" that the government is afraid to stand up to, and kow tows to any Muslim cry of "It's Racism"!

EU IMMIGATION

People are actually seeing first hand what this massive influx of immigrants, both legal and illegal are doing to both jobs and property values in their local area. Gone are the days when those less well educated could gain gainful employment flipping burgers in Burger King and McDonald's or even serving sandwiches in Subway.

All these low paying jobs are now being taken by even newer immigrants, Eastern Europeans, and having purchased a couple of Subway meals over the last week I can state that at least three of the staff in my local Subway are EU immigrants.

People are frustrated, worried and getting downright pissed off about it. They see in the news reports about Agencies recruiting staff from the EU, telling them how to claim benefits etc etc. That it may not be true does not enter their heads, what matters is how they think, how they view and rationalise what the MSM is telling them.

I am starting to wonder if the powers that be are doing it all in order to make us all racist!!

Information Chief Demands Reforms.

The information commissioner has warned that a "climate of fear" may be created unless he gets greater powers to counteract "excessive surveillance".

In this piece on BBC News, the current Information Commissioner, Mr Richard Thomas, actually starts to talk some sense, its about time and is long over due. For far to long the powers that be, have wanted our information, almost as if they wanted us cut and dried on a slab as an exhibit, in a some dusty old museum of our nations long gone freedoms.

I for one hope he can make improvements to a system of surveillance that the Nazis or KGB would be drooling over and doing their upmost to copy. This is more about one lone man fighting for everyones rights to privacy, maybe on this occassion it will take just one man, but I doubt the control he needs will be granted freely.

I believe they will only be granted if we learn to speak up against this pernicious creeping "need to know" government. If I am honest, I can see benefits from CCTV in town centres, as an aid to safety, lone women late at night etc, cash points, outside clubs and pubs looking for trouble etc. But I am against this all intrusive cameras everywhere, watching comings and goings.

Yet years ago we had no need of creeping surveillance, it seems that only since we followed the do gooders charter and allowed natural discipline to relax, that the thug element rose up to take the streets. There were problem pubs and clubs back in the 50's, but then the country could afford more policemen on the beat, kicking out time was monitored, violence was nipped in the bud.

Until we as part of this nation learn to take control of our kids discipline, we start to teach them FEAR, fear that there will be repercussions, there will be a reckoning, that they will be punished. Then we are on a hiding to nothing, we have lost and cannot reclaim our streets!

We pay to dump on our own land?

As far as I can tell, the land used for waste disposal in the UK, is land owned by the local councils. If this is so can someone please explain how we can have costs for dumping our rubbish in land our councils actually own?

Who decided these landfill taxes were to be levied? Where do the monies raised go to? More to the point which idiot in government agreed to it?

As far as I am able to ascertain, these landfill taxes originate from the EU, they benefit no-one other than the EU and their enlargement plans, and the monies raised are secretly going towards providing future members of the EU the ability to meet financial targets set to enable them to join said EU. An amount currently set at about 8 billion pounds, which means a lot more of our money going to aid future EU members Turkey, Albania and Serbia!

Can anyone see the sense in any of this at all, or have I gone stark raving mad?

Bins to be emptied fortnightly
I think that recycling is irrelevant to the bin emptying issue.

Our sensible politicians of the past, you know the ones with common sense and a sense of decency, worked out that in order to prevent diseases, rats and vermin etc etc, the bins would be emptied once a week. Nice easy and a concise decision, a simple issue with a simple solution.

The recycling bins provided do not need to be emptied weekly or fortnightly or even monthly, as there is no smell, no risk of vermin or disease. But our household waste, the non recyclable stuff, still remains the same, week in week out, it contains raw and cooked food remains, which putrify and smell, attracting vermin, flies etc, this does need to be removed weekly.

Ultimately the only advantage of fortnighly collections, is a small reduction in cost incurred by our local authorities, but they would like us to believe its all done to aid recycling.

Time to start dumping my waste on the councils doorstep methinks, (word to the wise, ensure no letters are in the rubbish) no names no pack drill!

Alcohol Concern...

Well it appears the do gooders are coming out of the woodwork yet again. Those would be purveyors of our sense and sensibilities have decreed that we are turning our kids into binge drinkers. Alcohol Concern the National Agency on Alcohol Misuse, have issued a press release which is available from their website.

I take my parenting skills seriously, my two eldest sons (23 and 17 yrs old)will tell anyone who listens, that I allowed them to drink in the home. I took it upon myself to do as many more other right minded parents have done, and teach my kids about alcohol. From about 13 years of age I allowed them the occasional can of lager, usually on a friday night, or if we had guests over the weekend then they would be allowed to join the gathering and have a maximum of two cans. They gained I believe a knowledge of beer, and its effects. I took care to point out the pitfalls, the danger of becoming alcoholics and drink dependant people.

I showed them people who drank, but drank too much and made themselves appear foolish and childish. I showed them others who would become loud and obnoxious, I showed them shy people who blossomed and gained confidence, serious men became funny, all in all it was a learning experience for them, and I hope that they learned from the experience. As neither son has been arrested nor cautioned for drinking offences nor any other offences I believe that my approach worked. Just as it has for other parent like ourselves, who rely on nothing but common sense to bring up our kids.

When questioned by guests as I often was, as to why I was allowing them to drink, I tried to explain that I thought it a good idea, as I wanted them to be aware of drink, of its dangers, I did not want them to hit 15,16 and 17 years of age and have to join their friends in the local park sharing bottles of cheap cider to get an introduction to booze. I did not want them to follow other kids who hit 18 and believed that they had to drink to prove they were men of the world etc etc.

Most of all I wanted them to be able to control their drinking and gain a healthy respect for drink.

Alcohol Concern can as far as I am concerned go and take a running jump, I will not be told how to bring up my children by anyone other than my other half. We decide as a couple what is best for our children. I will decide (with the wifes approval ;-) )what goes on in our house. Not the state nor any agencies of the state. If the powers that be drank less alcohol whilst in the Houses of Parliament maybe the laws and legislation they are passing would actually work, instead of being a booze induced knee jerk reaction.

After all if the government were so good at bringing up children, why do their care homes for children get such lousy press?

Shock Horror.. Motorists find a loophole and use it!

This post on the BBC magazine web site, makes for interesting reading.

In the paragraphs titled Location Location, whilst it says "For years the myth persisted that cameras were put up as a way to generate money rather than to make the roads safer.

Earlier this year the Department for Transport (DfT) tried to put this to bed. They revealed the requirements that cameras have to meet before they are installed. Principally, there have to have been three serious injuries at a camera site in a three-year period. In London it's even tougher with four injuries over the same period. But does not state that the rules were changed on April 1st this year! To make it far easier for local councils to put cameras just where the hell they want to!

Whilst it toes the government line that "Speed Kills", it does however also question the validity of the governments own statistics. Providing a conflicting view of the statistics and the method by which the government arrive at its figures. Dr Linda Mountain has blown holes in the governments argument, which even though her conclusions were included in the recent report, it was as ever buried at the back, hidden away.

A persona I have not encountered before "Captain Gatso" is quoted as saying "he registered his car at a different address, allowing him to ignore any penalties incurred."

Kevin Delaney, the former head of the Met's traffic police, believes this is evidence of a wider problem that speed cameras can only catch people that are basically law abiding.

"Any form of remote detection such as speed cameras relies on the information supplied by the public. If that isn't correct, then remote detection immediately falls flat. You need traffic police to catch the problem drivers."

Which the majority of people would want, we want more police officers on the road, at least they can take into account traffic, road conditions which is more than a gatso camera can! Remote detection does not work! It doesn't stop drunk drivers, uninsured cars, dangerous drivers or even road rage, we need real policemen for that!

So basically, people have found that by registering their cars at a friend or relatives address, they can delay receipt of any impending speeding prosecutions, until after the 28 days the police have to notify you, thereby escaping prosecution.

There are easier ways, www.pepipoo.com have information about the legality of NiP's (Notice of Intention to Prosecute) and how as they do not follow or comply with the PACE ( Police and Criminal Evidence) Act, a loophole has been found which can negate or cancel any proceedings.

People are no longer willing to sit by and let the powers that be just take away their livelihoods anymore, and people are starting to use civil disobedience to escape penalties!

Positive Discrimination

In this piece on BBC News, Police heads are discussing the Positive Discrimination of Ethnic minorities, in order to meet the set quota of Black and Asian officers recruited to the Police Force by 2009.

I personally feel that this is wrong, to do a job effectively, one hires the best candidate for the position, whether the person is black, white, yellow or green with purple polka dots. To get the best from our ( and I stress our) Police Force, we need to know that we have the best for the job.

We as members of the public are policed by our consent. That is we give our permission and agree to abide by rules that benefit us all, for the good of society as a whole. Parliament may make the laws, but we still have to give our consent, to be ruled by these new laws. We can refuse as has happened in the past over the Poll Tax. Civil disobedience is a right we have, and when we feel aggrieved we can exercise this right.

We expect sometimes too much from our officers, after all they are only human. What we as members of the public want, is not ethnic monitoring or quotas, we want effective officers on the beat. We do not want target led policing, we want the officers out on the front line catching the bad guys. We want a Police Force we can be proud of, not one that is used for political ends, as is happening much to often these days.

We as members of the public, care not if the officer who stops us is black or white, we only care about manners, civility and respect. We expect the Police officer to be there when we need them, not in a station filling out forms.

Keith Jarrett, President of the National Black Police Association, said he supported the use of affirmative action.

He told the BBC: "If we look at Hounslow in London, it's a borough that is predominantly from a minority ethnic background.

"Now whilst my white colleagues are immensely qualified to do the job, I would put forward that Hounslow would be better served as a borough by a person from an Asian background, who has got culture in common with the local inhabitants, and perhaps speaks the same language."

I make no excuses for my thoughts and comments, and my first thoughts on Mr K Jarretts' statement about speaking the same language is "that is crap", they should have no need to speak any language other than English, that is the mother tongue of this country, and should the Asians, Blacks and East Europeans choose to live here, then they should learn the language. They have a duty to accept our culture, we only have an obligation to respect theirs. We are bending over much to far, the UK's language is English and English must be used!

Positive discrimination panders to the minorities belief that they have in some way been mistreated in the past, be it through colonialism in the past, or just perceived thoughts of racism. The Police have to prove to people that they can do the job without being racist, and regain the trust of all of the members of the public!

If our Police Force, which was once , one of the most trusted in the world goes ahead with Positive discrimination, we are as a nation on a very slippery slope. Next you will have white youths claiming discrimination because they were stopped by an Asian Officer, that his English wasn't good enough to understand, that he doesn't understand their culture.

If a person applies to join the Police Force it does not matter what his colour as long as he has the required qualifications and can do the job. If the ethnic minorities do not have the qualifications (which I seriously doubt) then they should not be in the police. In my mind I have a sneaky suspicion that the basic Policeman's salary is not enough to entice the ethnic minorities to apply for a position.

Fishing one Country penalised and another given amnesty?

The BBC has a little piece today about the unfairness of the EU. Its all to do with fishing rights, not so much as how the quotas are worked out, but the actual unfairness of the commission in itself.

It appears that UK and Irish boats that over fished their permitted mackerel and herring allowances, were subjected to less allowances over the next few years in order to "payback" what they had overfished.

The French fishermen meanwhile who had been overfishing Bluefin Tuna, which is more of an endangered species, by upto 40% in one year and then 30% the following year, have had penalties waived and been given an amnesty. So their quotas remain the same, and they are permitted to fish with impunity.

It seems in this age of the EU every country is equal, however as in the old eastern block some are more equal than others, the French being more equal than the UK or Irish.

With fish stocks at an all time low, cod in danger of being fished out of existance, isnt it about time we regained and took control of our fishing grounds, to allow the stocks to recover.

Indeed does this sorry state of affairs not go to prove that the EU only want the UK in as a member so they can reduce us to their levels? If we take control of our waters and ban them from being fished, we could save cod from extinction.

I want us out of the EU as the more I learn the more I am sure we are being shafted by all!

School Rules just petty?

As far as I am aware, until children "Come of Age", currently on their 18th Birthday, their parents make decisions on their behalf. I do with my children, as do countless other parents. The reasons are quite simple, even at 15,16 and 17 years of age, some children do not always have the wherewithal to look after themselves or their own interests, therefore the parents have this responsibility. Especially if the child or minor is still in full time education.

Hurworth School, near Darlington County Durham has banned a pupil Miss Kayleigh Baker from "other voluntary activities" because her parents refused to sign a form for her to attend extra revision lessons. Part of these other voluntary activities, include playing for the netball team and attending the school prom.

The item has hit the BBC news website, please have a read see what you think.

My thoughts are, that as Miss Baker is already a high achiever, a prefect at the school, a member of the school team and until information to the contrary comes to light, I believe her parents are looking after her best interests. They and they alone know the stress that she is capable of managing, they and they alone have an idea of what she is capable of.

According to the Head Dean Judson, as her parents refused to sign allowing extra revision, she was banned form other voluntary activities. Which is a bit like taking the ball home because you can't get your own way. We have no way of knowing whether Miss Baker actually needs the extra classes, or even if the extra classes would not harm an otherwise high achieving student. What we appear to have is a school versus parent as to who knows best about a child needs.

School chief executive Eamonn Farrar said the extra study sessions were made compulsory five years ago.

He said: "If we were to give the children the choice of attending the extra study sessions, what do you think the response would be? They wouldn't attend.

I actually doubt that what Mr Farrar has said here is strictly true, most parents would jump at the chance to have their child given extra tuition just before exams, and would therefore force or otherwise cajole their child into attending.

But it must surely follow that any parent who would prefer their child to not attend these extra lessons, must have valid reasons for doing so. One can only assume that Miss Bakers parents made their decision on the basis that her high standards were not at risk by her non attendance, which basically means they think she doesn't need the extra lessons.

Only time will tell which side is right, but I would hazard a guess and go with the parents, who's belief and knowledge of their daughter, far outweighs the schools over zealous adherence to its authoritarian rules.

As everyone discovers in time, one size does not fit all! After all having one of the school governors resigning over the affair cannot be good for school moral, and what kind of message does it send to future pupils and their parents?

It has been said in the media and the DofE, that the extra lessons are "out of school hours" and therefore cannot be made compulsory! So it is definately a case of the school trying to impose its will on students!

Cart before the horse...

The BBC's Local Government Correspondent, Mr John Andrew,has recently written of his experiences of Belgium's Rubbish Solution, he visited Lokeren following in the footsteps of the environment minister Ben Bradshaw.

Having obviously read the piece, it does raise for me some points to ponder...

I can understand a countries reasons for recycling materials, I can understand protecting the environment, apart from Aluminium, there appears to be nothing to be gained by recycling, it cost more to get Aluminium out of the ground than it does to recycle. Therefore cans are a valuable resource, and it is worthwhile to recycle them.

Paper production uses sustainable forests to produce paper and card. The use of recycled paper uses more resources and leaves worse residue than if it was just binned. The bleaches and chemicals used during the cleaning process are more deadly and cause a serious pollution problem.

These are just two items from a list of recycling items accepted by councils.

UK Waste production is roughly 400 millions tons per annum. Only 7.5% of this is actually household waste, 30 million tons, now that's quite a large figure, but dwarfed by the outpouring of waste from the commercial and industrial sector. Do they as I suspect use the same landfill sites that our household waste goes into? How much do they have to pay for getting rid of their rubbish? The Constuction Industry alone produces 20% of the waste, a massive 80 million tons.

Before being landfilled could the waste not be compacted, reducing space, could it not be used as fuel? How about compacting and filling in old mining shafts that cover the whole of this small island?

I vaguely remember some town in Europe using their waste to fuel a power plant, is that viable here? Why is no-one in power telling us wether this is possible? Why is everything down to tax, tax, tax?

What Mr Andrew has not addressed in his short piece is where this actual legislation came from. As with most of the press and the BBC, they all seem to want to keep it quiet that 80% of all our legislation comes from Brussels, and is merely rubber stamped by UK Government!

In the article he mentions cost, and how the people pay on average £56.00 annually, now I might be a wee bit sceptical here, but does anyone seriously think that the UK's Local Councils and Government are going to be willing to set such a low rate, not a chance, as ever they will go for the big buck.

He then goes on to the biggest problem I have with all of this, chipping of bins, one fact is inescapable, they knew what was coming, long before it hit the news. Wheelie bins were issued to the homes of Blackpool in 2004, at which time they were already chipped!! Why?? Who said it would be a good idea to put the cart before the horse?

Why do the fuckwits in our employ seem to feel free to treat us like numpties?

A Simple view of the EU?

I was asked in the local pub, just why I was against the EU. What was it about the EU that I found so unpalatable and as we were in it anyway, wouldn't it be better to try and reform it from within.

The Idea of a Common Market, as first sold to the UK population in the 70's, does have an appeal, it is a good idea. The idea of opening barriers between European countries was a worthwhile aim. Unfortunately as so many good ideals, it was hijacked and changed beyond all recognition.

To put this as simply as I can, "power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely!"

Whilst the UK was ruled by the Parliament in Westminster, we have safeguards to stop some of the corruption. Our MP's are paid handsomely for their very meagre efforts to represent us, they have plenty of perks and privileges, that were never even considered by the earliest of our representatives. What with massive expenses claims, which can include mortgage payments, first class travel, taxi's here there and everywhere, Gold plated pensions which are index linked and untouchable. MP's have a rather good thing going on! This was a price we as a public, whilst not exactly overjoyed at paying, we permitted as it allowed us to tell our MP's in no uncertain terms, we gave it to you and we can take it away. You cock up and you will not be re-elected, your snout will be cast out from the trough! So remember be a good little porker or else its the bacon factory for you.

Originally our MP's were taken from the landed gentry, who had made their fortune, and through a sense of civic pride decided to put something back. There was also no doubt that self interest was also a part of their being willing to stand. But on the whole they were men who had made their fortunes, who had run businesses and organisations, men who had proved they had what it took to survive in the competitive world of trade. They had experience and knowledge of how things worked, of how to run things and get the best out of them. They were not professional politicians, they might belong to a party be it the Tories or Liberals and even labour, but they were their own men, they fought for their constituents, not the party machine.

The problem is that they seem in these more modern times to forget that they are supposed to be there in Parliament to protect us, to manage the State. Hence the term Statesman. We delegate to them some of our responsibilities, and for this as we have ready ascertained they are paid very handsomely! Yet we as constituents are merely seen as a means to an ends, con the public, get elected then toe the party line. They are all professional politicians, very very few of them have held down proper jobs, well jobs that the majority of their constituents would recognise as worthwhile jobs anyway. They go to University, then become researchers for a party, and gradually move up through the party ranks to become candidates, and they hope MP's.

But this Party system cheapens and changes the position of MP, it gives us lesser men, men like Ted Heath, who for whatever reason took us into the fledgling EEC. As well as men like Gordon Brown and Tony Blair, one raped and pillaged our pensions and the other took this once great country into an illegal war! Tony has presided on the biggest theft from the British people, that of our civil liberties! Liberties that have been fought for with the blood of past generations.

Just what has this to do with the EU I hear you cry, well its just that as bad as it all gets, as corrupt as NuLabour are or have become, we can at the next elections get rid, we can sack them, we can give another politician a chance to make things right, a chance for him or her to do it differently and to do it right! We have a chance at the local elections to send warning shots across the bows of the NuLabour machine, telling them change or your out!

This I cannot do with the EU, the Commission is totally unelected, chosen in secret, hidden behind closed doors. I never voted or had the opportunity to vote for Mr Barroso, nor any of his commissioners. Even the EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandleson, was not elected. He was sacked twice from Blairs Cabinet, once over a £373,000 loan which he didn't declare and lied about, and then he lied to parliament about a passport application, which kind of tells the electorate that he cannot be trusted. Yet he is given the job of Trade Commissioner by Tony Blair! He didn't have to fight for election, he was and still is a discredited ex MP, who was caught telling lies, great fucking big ones! Yet he is on the unelected commission and it really does beggar belief. If you actually research the EU, you will find that some of the present commissioners have had fraud allegations made against them! Not exactly a ringing endorsement for honesty or integrity is it!

We have a Parliament that is supposed to make all of our laws, yet due to our rights being given away to the EU, which I have had no say nor any input, 80% of our laws come from the EU Commission! If we are forced any further into the EU, we lose our ability to get out, seriously until we are fully integrated we can get out. Just by repealing the 1972 European Communities Act, we are out, its that simple. However should we integrate further, the EU can stop us leaving, or permit us to leave as long as we pay massive massive fines for doing so! Now which ever way you look at it, our forefathers sure as hell didn't fight so that we could be ruled by Europe!!

Coming from a strong working class background, I along with a majority of my class, have a distrust of the Europeans, we have long memories, the working classes fought the wars. We outnumbered the Upper and middle classes on any front line you care to mention, and basically we don't fucking trust any politicians and we trust European Politicians even less! I am not alone in my feelings regards the EU, and the simple fact that it is trying to shaft us for the wars we won! I can accept that this might be seen as null or mute point, with all the other euro bloggers out there, but I feel it is a valid point nonetheless. After years of being shafted by the great and supposed good, we need to get out of the EU, leave it to stew. After all in reality they need our money, much more than they care to admit!

Casino's

My apologies for lack of postings, life has a way of teaching each one of us our priorities, and mine over the last few weeks have not been about blogging.

However one is, shall we say back in the saddle, so with no further ado, let us begin.

I have refrained from commenting in the past about the proposed super casino's, not out of apathy or dis-interest, but my mother was involved in a small way in BCAGE (Blackpool Coalition Against Gambling Expansion) and I considered it to be a slight hindrance to have a family member involved in something I wished to blog about. Plus I preferred to see how the government could cock up this plan, just as badly as many of the other quick fixes they appear to be extremely fond of. As we already know there have been more pressing things going on in the bloggosphere.

On the whole, I am not against gambling, I have visited casino's in the past and may do so in the future. I tend to restrict my gambling to the Grand National, the Pools and the lottery, I don't do horse racing or dogs, nor do I do one armed bandits.

Tessa Jowell has staked her reputation on bringing in a Super Casino, which seems innocuous enough, until one actually looks and ponders the reasons. Supposedly the one Super Casino should have gone to Blackpool, but was instead given to Manchester.

Having resided in both places I feel that my comments do have some small amount of merit.

Manchester has to all intents and purposes re-invented itself, it has with the help of massive amounts of public and private money, reclaimed land and buildings. It has redefined Manchester City Centre has made it appear more cosmopolitan. The city centre has changed almost beyond recognition, with new high rises, street cafes, new restaurants and shops in abundance being built. It is now seen as the second city of the UK ahead of Birmingham, who it has to be said have not taken it lying down and are beginning their own revamp and renewal. So Manchester has a lot going for it, it already has a few casino's, which on the whole are well utilised and visited, mainly by the biggest nation of gamblers the Chinese. One could argue that as it has the largest group of Chinese outside of London, then Manchester is already ready with the biggest collective group of gamblers.

Blackpool has lost its way over the years, it now does not know what it is anymore, in days gone by the annual wakes weeks were a boon with thousands of mill workers from Oldham, Blackburn, Wigan, Burnley and other Northern towns, travelling to the coast on their annual pilgrimage to get some sea and sand. These annual holidays made Blackpool and other northern resorts. As the years passed the wakes weeks came to die out aided with the advent of packaged holidays,cheaper travel, and cheaper flights meant it was affordable for the working man to travel to benidorm and the Costa Del sol, where you were guaranteed the sun, something that Blackpool could not boast. The hotels and guest houses remained and fought for a reducing number of clients. Until today, the majority of these clients are now day trippers, who come for a day out. The mainstay of the hotels and guest houses today are the "Stag and Hen" do's, which has helped to drive away the families, from what once was Britain's premier family resort. Stagnation, lack of investment have all taken a toll on Blackpool. There have been some recent changes, some modernisation, the new gateway to Blackpool has actually begun to improve the area. However lacking any serious industry, all that Blackpool appears to offer is masses of under used hotels/guest houses Blackpool's main employer is the local Civil Service, with some of the largest departments based in or around the Fylde Coast. The Land Registry, Stocks and Bonds, Disability Living Allowance and War Pensions to name a few.

I wish to know why the government have tied in with these regeneration plans for both areas, the idea of a Super Casino. How can building a large casino help to regenerate an area. Once the initial building work has finished and those construction workers have moved on to their next build. How many jobs will a casino create? a couple of hundred. Hazel Blears on Question Time last night stated that it would create over 100 jobs. Not a lot of jobs to go around for the unemployed are being created with a casino then! Plus having lived in both areas, I cannot believe that unless you are extremely good looking, you are going to get one of the good jobs. The majority of service jobs created will be on the service side, cleaners, kitchen staff, car parking attendants. Not exactly well paid areas of work. The Croupiers and bar staff will all be good looking people, to help attract the clientele.

Notwithstanding all these proposals, one has only to listen to the people of Atlantic City or Las Vegas, to be able to follow and understand that casino's help no one. They attract Prostitution, racketeering, money laundering, drugs, crime and the most unsavoury of characters all drawn to the money like moths to a candle.

Sure relax the gambling laws, allow slightly larger regional casino's or allow the casino's already in the towns to expand and offer larger prizes. But to imagine that one Super casino will bring any benefit to whatever area it is in, is surely a very misguided one!

Boozing at home.....

Why is it that all and sundry seems to feel they they have some innate right to comment on our lifestyles?

Personally I like the odd pint or two with the lads on a Friday night, nothing to heavy, a chance to put the world to rights, have a moan, even discuss politics and occasionally women! etc etc.

Now the Royal College of Physicians have commented on the fact that we as a nation are supposedly drinking too much at home.

Purely from a fiscal point, if I purchase a drink in a Pub, be it beer or wines/spirits, it is understood that I pay more than the said drink is actually worth, I pay a higher price for the comfort of drinking in the pub. If I wished for cheap ale, I could and can go to the local Tesco, Morrisons et al.

Now as we age and head into our dotage, the local pub is less and less our "type of place" too many youngsters, too much loud music etc etc. Just as in our 40's we realise that clubbing is silly and make way for the youngsters coming through, as we get older our intake levels drop, we grow up and cease to be clubbers. The occasional forays to the dance floors begin to take place at weddings and birthdays.

However just because we are older and less inclined to go to the local, does not mean we dislike drink, we can still have a drink at home, but the Royal College of Physicians have called for drink prices to be increased, to stop the older elements of society "drinking to much"!

My parents ran pub's both managed and tenanted, when they left the pub trade, that didn't mean they gave up drinking, for years my dad brewed his own wine, and a very potent brew it was! Who needed beer when three glasses of his home made wine could put you on your back! They never drank to excess, just a few drinks whilst watching what passes for entertainment on the TV.

This as we get older is getting to be, if it was ever anything else, the norm. We have paid our taxes, our dues, contributed to the fabric of society, we do not go out and get bladdered, steaming or pished as a fart. We do not call on ambulances, we cause no fights, we do not urinate in the street, we do not go round effing and blinding it at the top of our voices. We remain safe in our homes, drinking and relaxing, in front of the tele or playing cards, even scrabble.

So why this insistence from those who always presume they know better, to once again try to foist their values upon us. If they are short of friends, have boring lives, that is their fault, they failed to mix, failed to have any personality. Because the oh so righteous do gooders who infest our country are really just a lot of aging sad sack bastards who do not know when to keep their collective gob's shut!

If our elderly and pensioners want to drink at home, what the fucking hell makes it your business. During their working lives they had to put up with all your stupid petty rules and regulations, they jumped through your stupid hoops, they paid for the NHS, they paid for your schooling, they were lied to but paid anyway for the EU.

Now they have retired, they Do Not have to put up with you! You have not earned the right to comment on their lives, they are above you, you have nothing to teach them, and even more so, you talk of nothing that they need to know! Other than perhaps giving another reason for the (robbing bastard) chancellor to raise more taxes, by upping the prices in the supermarkets and off licences, to pay for an illegal war!

If my mum wants to drink a bottle of vodka over two years, two months, two weeks, or even two days, who's fucking business is it? After years of paying into a system, which repeatedly shafted her for more and more of her hard earned money. Has she not earned the right to do whatever the bloody hell she wants?

So to all you Physicians who profess to know so much, get off your fucking high horses, get out get a hobby, or even try and get a life. But leave me and mine alone, if nothing else all the do gooders have proved, is once they are let loose on anything they, as politicians ( who have no room to talk Re: Boozing) do, fuck it all up. It ain't broke, it don't need fixing..... now piss off and die!!

The House of Lords...

I suppose that unlike some, I do love and rejoice in the history of the UK. As much as I dislike the "class system", as shown by the royalty. I do not agree that they are in any way better than my local street sweeper or lolly pop lady, or even more worthy than a nurse, a dentist or even a mere blogger!

Aah but they do provide us with a tangible link to our past, they are a pageant, a glimpse of what once was. They in all their robes and finery are a spectacle as only we English can do so well. One that many other countries envy, they respect our history and pay money to come and see it.

I too adore our pageantry and castles, the history of these lands, being able to trace our linage back more than 200 years, our hero's, their actions on our behalf, link them to this future, always visible, even if rarely ever acknowledged.

The United Kingdom has a wide and vivid history that stretches back through all our troubles, it shows the way we as a nation moved forwards, even when we moved forward in an unjust way, we changed and adapted. We learned to make mistakes but not be afraid to correct those mistakes. How we and the self belief that we had in ourselves as a nation, have made our mark on the world. We exported our sense of fairplay, our sense of justice, our belief in the rights of the common man. Think how worse would the world be without this nation having been here?

We have no reasons and precious little understanding of how or why the things that we do actually work, but work they do! We trust them to work, and for every jobsworth we have, we also have many that do the right thing, because it is the right thing to do.

As my case in point I give you the House of Lords, surely one of the strangest anachronism that exists, the idea that a set of the landed gentry, should have any concept of how to keep the common man free, on the face of it seems farcical. But that is what they do, Yes, I accept they occasionally make mistakes, who doesn't, but on the whole they do nothing but good. They are our safeguard, our first line of defence against the stupidity and ineptitude of the House of Commons. They are a balance, a check on the government. They cannot change the laws, they cannot change legislation, they can only recommend, and by doing so, buy us, the common people time to see the errors that the elected politicians have missed or misread. It gives us a chance to ask questions, a chance to say "hang on that is plain fucking stupid" or more basically, There is NO FUCKING WAY your doing that!!!

I am all for modernisation if something needs changing then by all means change it, but not just sake of being modern, of needing to be "Up to Date", of being "with it". Change for changes sake does nothing and usually cock's everything up.

The House of Lords actually works, so why reform? Is it that they do just what they are supposed to do? That they follow the purpose of their being so well, that they frustrate governments wishes? That they are a safeguard, that they do point out government follies? Why do the politicians hate the house of lords? bloody hell after years of questionable service by some bloody incompetent politicians are they and have they not been elevated to the House of Lords?

Yes by all means reduce the hereditary peers, as has been done, but to go for a totally elected house is foolishness.

Let the status quo remain, long live the House of Lords!

Well I often wondered how long it would take the NuLabour thieves to realise what a potential cash cow they would be creating with the proposed ID Cards.

Not withstanding the actual set up costs, which is rumoured to be in the billions, and the price which we the supposed free people of the UK, have been informed will have to pay for the privilege of owning one? Only about £93.00, which is the governments assessment, and as we all know, they assess like they fuck. Which is to say they last about thirty seconds and brag about shagging all night, so in reality the cost is going to be sky high!

I often wondered about how would they or could they force us to carry them. I understood that people on benefits would have to provide them as a matter of course, otherwise no benefits, I mean I am no Einstein but I knew that would be the first use. Then I assume the next would be the NHS, no ID no treatment. But couldn't see how they would get the rest of the population to use them. well according to the Daily Mail they (NuLabour) have said that banks and other companies will have access to the information for a fee!

Now as Longrider said a while ago, "Let me make this clear; my identity is just that, mine. It is not yours, it is not the state’s, it is mine and mine alone. It is up to me to decide who will be privy to information about that identity." Well said that man, I couldn't agree more! I too am not for sale, my Identity is mine, so hands off you fuckwits!!

So if I understand this correctly the government of fuckwits are going to make me pay for something I don't want,I don't fucking really need, that will be fucking useless, they are then going to feel free to allow all and fucking sundry access to my fucking data!! Police over the top??

Well, we know how strong the women in Sheffield are now, it takes three Police officers to subdue one scrawny 20 year old woman.

Toni Comer was arrested after commiting criminal damage to a car outside a NightClub in Sheffield.

What surprises me after watching the footage, is the officers defence that she got her hands free and went for his genitals!

Having watched it I am struck by the fact that he hits her 5 times, but only after he has back up from two other officers, one of whom appears to be holding the young womans legs. Not forgetting that all of the Officers tower over the scrawny built woman!

Another thing is why not let us listen to the sound, the CCTV obviously has sound as the dog can be head barking. What was said, and at what point did the woman try to attack the officers genitals.

A small Council Tax rant

I still find it amazing that there is supposedly no room in our jails for the criminal fraternity in the UK. Indeed over the past few months much has been said in the press about the Home Office being "Fit for Purpose", and the Home Offices reply, why to send out yet more guidelines for sentencing.

These guidelines have been adhered to by the Judges in a few notable cases, were it has been said by government spokesmen that the judges were making political statements, which with their roles as Judges, and their impartiality they are not supposed to do.

Which begs the question, if there is no room in our jails for criminals, how come a retired vicar can be jailed for not paying above inflation Council Tax increase?

Since I personally began paying what was then the Council Rates, back in the 90's then my annual bill for a family home in the lowest band was about £190.00. Then Maggie Thatcher had a brain wave, bring in the Poll Tax or Community Charge as it was properly called.

The problem was that council tax billed doubled, I went from paying £190.00 to just short of £400.00, now I cannot see for the life of me why it had to be set at that figure. Had they just said right everyone has to pay. Set the money at £100.00, no problem, but no they (The councils) had to be greedy, so everyone over 18 paid £190.00. Effectively doubling the money that the councils received, and in some homes quadrupling the amount. None of this money has ever been really accounted for.

That is what was so unfair, that a family with two kids over 18 still at home had their Poll Tax quadrupled, whilst a couple in an above average large house had their Poll Tax amount reduced. The better class and larger your house, the less you paid. Not with standing that parents became liable for their kids part of the bill, if they lived at home. So we had massive amounts of children leaving home at 18, kids who would have otherwise stayed at home and maybe gone to college etc.

We then had civil unrest, riots, people refusing to pay, which effectively forced the government of the day to do a U turn. The Poll Tax was no more, and they came up with the Council Tax which was virtually the old rating system, with loop holes closed.

Since then Council Tax has risen, albeit slowly at first until in the last 6 years it has doubled what it was in 2000. Each time it has gone up since 1997 (when Labour came to power) it has risen by more than the rate of inflation.

This begs the question, just what the buggery are they doing with my/our money? Where is it being hidden, what is it being used for?

In Blackpool, over the last 5 years the town hall has been revamped 3 times, each conversion more expensive than the last. From posh block paving of all the footpaths around the council offices, to the brand new front entrance and reception areas, each change makes no difference nor does it contribute to the people of Blackpool's standard of life, it just makes the spendthrift councillors want to spend more and more money revamping all their offices. Whilst the roads, transport and street cleansing just get steadily worse!

These increases are forcing more and more of our pensioners into becoming criminals, they are refusing to pay above inflation rises, and they are going to jail to make their case. Just as Alfred Ridley, the retired vicar has chosen to do! Well done Alfred!

I believe that if everyone wrote to their local councillor and local MP's and stated that this year will be the last year of council tax rises. That in future any increase will be kept under inflation or first the councillors will lose their honorariums, then senior staff salaries will be reduced, then senior staff will be sacked. Threaten them where it really hurts in their pocket! Maybe then they would think twice about non jobs, and jobs for the boys.

EU Flag to Fly over UK buildings???

Right, the Yanks, for all their worldwide experience of wars and how to lose them, have a way of portraying their history. Officially in US History books World War II started in 1941, that's when they decided to join in, and in their words it wasn't a proper war till they joined.

The Treaty of Rome was signed in 1957, we (the UK) were not signatories to this Treaty, cause just having beaten Germany, and being basically bankrupted by the debt to the USA , Land Lease, war loans etc, etc, to pay for the War, we were having a bit of trouble financially. Plus we were actually fed up of bailing the bastards in Europe out!

So anyway this year is the 50th Anniversary of the treaty of Rome, when the EU is going to celebrate the signing of the treaty and for keeping Europe peace free during the last 50 years??? Sorry I thought that was NATO, or have I missed something, Aah, I get it, I forgot this is much like the USA. The EU writes his own version of history, hoping that the normal and certainly unwilling public it dictates to, have little or no recollection.

Now the sneaky little bastards in power are trying to make it mandatory to fly the EU Flag alongside the Union Flag on public buildings. There is a problem with this, at the moment as it stands, the EU is not a country or a state, therefore to Fly the EU flag would be an outdoor advertisement, and as such require planning permission.

Speaking about the bill currently passing through parliament, Mr. Neil Herron, Speakout Campaigner said "It seems strange to me that we have to fight to fly our National Flag and the flag of our Patron Saint even on just one day of the year, yet sneaking through Parliament is a Bill which will give the flag of a highly contentious political project equal status to the flag that 1.25million in two World Wars laid down their lives for, and our troops continue to do so in Iraq and Afghanistan.”
“The British public is fed up to the back teeth of the continuous attempts to give extra credence to the EU and the all pervasive EU symbolism ... on passports, car registration plates, driving licences and now this outrageous attempt to give the EU Flag status equivalent to that of our own Union Flag. I second this statement we need the EU Flag as much as we need a chocolate fireguard, and lets be honest, the chocolate fireguard would be just as useful as the EU Flag, or the EU as a whole!

No Smoking in Church!!

On 1st of July, the No Smoking ban comes into effect, on that day you can no longer smoke in public buildings. To make sure you know you cannot smoke the Fuckwits that be have decreed that mandatory signs are placed all over public buildings. Now I reckon one of teflon tone's mates own one of these sign manufacturing companies, but that is as they say by the by.

In 100% of churches as far as I am aware, people don't smoke, call it respect, call it what you like, they just don't do it.

So why oh why do churches have to put up signs? (and failure to do so results in them being fined) sorry I just do not get it.

Apparently someone from the Department of Health was quoted in the tabloids as saying "Prominent signs will be required for each entrance. The design of the signs Can be flexible and designed to match surroundings!"

What the fuck are our Churches and Museums, Art Galleries etc going to look like with all the stupid "No Smoking" signs plastered all over them?

It's just more control freakery from the stupid fuckwit blair and his nazi henchmen!! All the signs should be grouped together and forced up every NuLabour politicians arsehole!

Nurses asked to take a Pay Cut!!

This is a subject I feel I can for want of a better word, pontificate upon, there see Friday and hasn't my eloquence surprised you, aren't you glad you logged in.

I try as much as I can not to dwell on the past, as I believe that as long as you feel you have learned lessons, taken those lessons on board then it is OK to move on.

My ex wife, is an Auxiliary Nurse, what you would call an ass wiper, or that is what they used to do, now they do much more.

For the past few years the Auxiliary Nurses duties have widened, they have taken on a more nursing role. Taking blood pressure, taking bloods, changing dressings and handing out medications etc, and yes all with training. The reason for them doing more nursing work, is because the actual nurses are tied to the ward desks, doing/completing paperwork, so that the trust can fulfill its obligations to the number crunchers and meet government targets, to ensure that the hospital gets it funding. The salary for these posts is around £12,000 per year, as against a qualified nurse, who's starting salary is usually around £16,- 18000.

Now the rights and wrongs of what Auxiliaries do or Nurses don't are neither here nor there, the point I wish to get over is that they provide a front line service, for not a lot in regards pay!

I am not surprised that the chancellor (robbing bastard) gordon brown has stated that Nurses pay should be kept to below inflation rates, what does surprise me is his total stupidity in expecting people to swallow this line. Every time it comes to people that do real jobs, that the country really needs, they want to cut salaries, pay less than inflation rises. Yet they have the audacity to ask that they themselves receive a whopping 66% pay rise, now if that is not hypocrisy then I don't know what is. He (Gordo) has asked the Nurses to accept a 2% pay rise, 1.5% in April and 1% in November, giving a total of 1.9%. Notwithstanding that the staggered payment mean the government saves about 200 million pounds.

Health Secretary Patricia Hewitt said "she appreciated nurses would be "disappointed" by the staggered increases but said their rise would amount to 4.4% once annual progression increases were included." But its still way fucking short of the 66% they want for themselves!!Now let me explain a bit about these progression increases.

You start a job on the lowest point on a scale, for arguments sake 10,000, then over a period usually 5 years, you reach the top of the scale, 12,000, this is to recognise the increase in knowledge and experience that you have gained. It works the same in the silly service, as you gain more experience you move up an increment annually. This is a proven method and believe it or not it actually works, most Government and local government/councils/colleges etc use the concept.

Now Pat Hewitt is saying that the Increments are now apart of your rise, (this argument was last used by employers who told staff that as they were on 5.00 per hour, and the minimum wage was now 5.35 per hour, that was their annual cost of living increase.) What Pat Hewitt fails to realise is, that once you are on the top of your scale, you get no further increase/increment, so for those staff, who with all the job losses etc, are more likely to be at the top of scale, are actually getting a pay cut. As over inflation rate rises of Utility bills, council tax and cost of food etc have all increased by 4.4%.

I believe that if the Politicians are entitled to a 66% pay rise, then so should everybody! If a 2% pay rise is acceptable to Nursing staff then it is also acceptable for the Politicians! Plus don't forget only as a Politician do you get your salary plus £131,000 for expenses!!!

Death of our locals?

Walking into my local hostelry, meeting Friends and acquaintances, in the age old ritual of having a few beers with the lads, a couple of jars at the end of the working week. Sitting down in company with the tipple of your choice, be it a pint of bitter or mild, lager or Guinness, your packet of fags close at hand, aah the sheer extravagance of it all.

The old timers sat in the corner, us middle aged buggers nearby, and around us the youngsters, nipping into the local for a few bevvies before hitting the town. The old timers reminiscing about what once was, the middle aged trying to put the world to rights, the youngsters joking and reminding us of how we once were.

Yes there really are pubs still like that in England, I know I visit one, I'm what you call a regular, not specially well known, but a face that people have got to know, and nod at in passing. As I nod and say hello to others that I recognise. Its not a pub full of loud music, its not a pub with a terrific turn over, it just about holds its own and makes a small profit.

All this is going to be gone soon, there's no room for we normal folks, be it the old timers, us middle aged even the youngsters are on their way out, we all are!

How many local pubs are going to lose custom and go to the wall all over a packet of fags?

You see when smoking became frowned upon, and the non smokers started complaining about the smell, and lets be honest its usually the ex smokers that are worst for that, we gave them no smoking areas, tried to keep the smoke away from them, gave them there own space. Did we whinge and moan, nah ever eager to please, we made room! If the Pub was large enough they got their own rooms, but they never stayed in them, they wanted to be where the smokers were, where you can have a laugh, take the piss, act the goat.

Fair enough if the pub served food, then yeah make it non smoking, but a local, that exists not for the smokers but because of them. If that pub doesn't serve food, it should have the right to be a smoking pub, or even a non smoking pub.

But its not going to work, for all that the non smokers state, that they will start going to the pub once its free off all the smoke. They won't, after a few weeks, the pubs will lose its soul, the camaraderie, the laughter, the jokes and then the pub will die, and with it another part of the community will be gone. Another nail in the coffin of the, if not English, then surely the Lancashire way of life, a way thats endured so many trials, so many hardships, fought for so much and expected nothing in return, only to be left in piece.

But this isn't really about smoking, its about control, its about doing as we say and not as we do! I can accept that smoking is bad for you, but its good for non smokers, its got to be, you see, us smokers we die younger than non smokers. So we get to spend less of any pension the state sees fit to give us, which means more brass in the pot for you long lived clever arses that never started smoking. We pay more tax than you non smokers n'all, 4 quid n some change in tax, on a packet of fags that cost 40 pence to make. Aah you say, but you cost the NHS, with your smoking related diseases, bollocks says I, we bloody pay fer t'NHS with tax on us fags!

But anyroad lets not argue, lets sit n sup whilst we can, cause its not over yet, you think you non smokers have won some bloody great battle, well I'll tell thee, tha's won nowt! Cause your bloody next, as god is my judge, i'll make thee that promise.

Lets think on folks what yon governments done fer us,

They stole our pensions, to prop up there own,

They live on steak, but throw us yon bone.

they've sold out the queen, next t'll be throne,

Snoopers are comin, to look round yer 'ome.

yer taxes have risen, many more are yet due,

Now I am not a euro sceptic, or a europhobe, in fact I am not Euro anything.

See, I was and am English, now tony blair and the Scottish twats that run this country, seem to have made it harder and harder to be "just English". We must be British! nope sorry I am English, I was born in England, ergo I am English! So bollocks to the English haters amongst those of the ruling elite. We let the scots join us cause they live right next door same as the welsh, doesnt mean I want to be scottish or welsh, Ireland should be Irish, lets get rid!

By the same token I am not European, I do not agree with it, am not a member of it, and don't want to be a part of it. See I cannot for any reason see the point of being "in Europe", ffs these thick bastards caused the biggest world wars in the planets history! They have rules coming out there asses, if it ain't legislated you can't do... wtf, in good old England you can do what the hell you like as long as there is not a law against it. Your guilty until you prove yourself innocent in Eorope .. and how the feck can you do that from a prison cell? Where as in England you are presumed innocent until the state proves beyond reasonable doubt that you are guilty. We have trial by jury, made up of 12 good and true men/women... not a magistrate who will decide if there is a case to answer. At least with a jury you know some of the buggers got laid, unlike a magistrate who missis had a headache, so the first poor bastard in front of him is going down, as his wife didnt!

We drive on the correct side of the road, we queue for things, we moan about the weather, we have odd hobbies, like train spotting, and drama groups. We whinge about the rest of Europe and moan about how unlike us they are. It ain't racist its fucking realism, we don't have as much corruption in our politicians as they do. We are sceptical about most things our government tell us, we are blase about our laws, cause we know that whilst not perfect, its better than the shite they have in Europe. We believe in fair play, stiff upper lip etc, we don't mind the paki shops, bloody hell if it wasn't for the paki shops we wouldn't have Tesco's opening 24 hours! We like having arguments about anything even when we agree, we disagree about how much we agree, well that us, that's the English! We dont use imperial measurements or metric, we ask for a couple of apples, a touch of pepper and bit of common sense. Thats the English way!

Chinky's or Indians, its good food and we will eat it. But by eating it doesn't mean we subscribe to their religion, ffs they wanna be Islamic, Hindus whatever, just don't try and convert me mate and we will get on fine... Oh and another potion of egg fried rice whilst we are going on about it. You wanna dress funny go right ahead, just don't try and force anyone to dress the same way, you want to live here, then learn the fucking language, we are lazy bastards and cant be arsed, but then after all its our country, if I wanted to learn Indian/Chinese/Iraqi I would go the country or at least to college to learn, your here, therefore I don't have to. Your here and we reserve the right to take the piss out of you for the way you speak, not cause its nasty, but cause it really does sound funny as fuck! But you chose to live here cause you know its the best place in the world to live. We take the piss and deep down that means we like you, or have you not cottoned on to that yet?

We use war as a last resort, well we did till silly twat blair agreed to back bush, we try to keep our word, we recognise that we are slightly mad, but we rejoice in the madness we share, we love our eccentrics, like Boris Johnson.... ffs in any other country that bugger would have been shot by now, we have Jeremy Clarkson and his lovely hamster, which he finally got back, albeit after a beating about the head at 300 miles per hour. We are as a race completely fucked up, but for us it works, we don't need to join a club, that once your in you cant get out. We like having our own money and spending it, we dont need the EU to tell us how and when we can spend it, and on which other countries, ffs charity begins at home not in Poland or Solvinia!

We don't trust our politicians, so we have an institution we call the house of commons so we know just where we put them, we know the house of lords will keep them in paper work for five years, so it will keep them busy and lets us normal folk get on with earning a living. Then after four or five years we trot the silly fuckwits out to give us all a laugh at election time, and take the piss out of John Snow and his swingometer.

Well that was the case until some foreign fuckwit had the idea of the EU, and a dopey cunt called ted heath lied through his back teeth, and got us to join. Now the aforementioned said EU passes about 75% to 80% of our legislation, sorry but I thought that was what we paid our politicians to do? The EU had an idea of a constitution, now I hate the fucking frogs as much as the next bloke, but to give them their due, the froggies saw through it and said Non, or in plain English No!
Now one would have thought that that would be the end of it, but no the fuckwits in the EU still want the constitution, so they have had a brainwave, lets call it a mini treaty, that way no fucker gets a referendum on it especially those English twats! In order to sell it to Blair we will let him think he can be the first EU President!

Well I have a motto, its dead easy and really understandable by all. It is "You want to fuck me? kiss me first, you don't kiss me, you don't get to fuck me!" I get the impression that the EU not only wants to fuck me, it wants to fuck me via the back door, and that as the froggies say is a NON!!! I won't bend over and be shafted by anyone!!!!

Since I can remember, almost it seems since time immemorial, each major political party has been slighted by the other for financial wrongdoing. If it's not the Tories having a go a Labour, it's Labour having a go at the Tories, and the poor man relations, Lib Dem's doing nothing. Well apart from good old Ginger Minger Kennedy, who was outed for being a piss head, which is just about as bad as the Lib Dem's get!

Anyway over the last few months, more so after the Cash for Peerages fiasco, I have become like thousands of others disillusioned with mainstream politics, they are all the bloody same. The are all so alike at times it hard to know the difference. So being an inquisitive type of bloke, (okay Karen, yeah I admit it I'm a nosey B'stard) I started doing some research, looking around the Internet, trying to find out why all the parties were so alike.

From the Labour Party website, to the Tories and on to the poor old relations the Lib Dem's, I looked and read, and surprisingly found no bloody answers, to be honest I thought it was all some sort of conspiracy, they were all hiding something, nothing seemed as open as it should have been. You know the feeling, your at a family do, wedding etc, your brothers trying to get into the bridesmaids knickers, your uncles pished as a fart showing his willy off etc etc, and as you walk to the bar, you can see the topic change as you get nearer, and some sixth sense tells you, you've been the topic of conversation. Well either you, your spouse or the kids etc etc. Well that's the sort of feeling I got, something not quite right.

Well I remembered vaguely about Kilroy Silk, and that he had joined UKIP, other than that they didn't want the pound abolished, I had not a clue about them, who the politicians were, their aims etc etc. In fact if I am honest I probably felt like you did and still do, that they were the lunatic fringe, the always good for a laugh Monster Raving Loony type Party. I had swallowed the other parties line that they weren't worth considering, so I had a look.

Now the UKIP website is actually crap, really it is biggest loada bollocks since I don't know when, ffs even I could design something better. It's just not attractive enough, and the purple and yellow colours, YUK!!! But what the hell each to his/her own, so as the colours put me off, (I know childish or what, but some colours just leave me dead) I didn't read anything, I just though crap site, crap party, instant decision, you get the idea.

So here I am drifting along the Internet, flicking from page to page, hoping something will catch my eye, and I found this guy Devils Kitchen, please be advised as they do with music Cd's, his site has Parental Advisory Explicit Content. Boy the way this guy can swear!!! and yet be at times be so funny with it.

Nothing is beneath his "fisking", and he takes people and their opinions apart piece by piece, especially MSM (Main Stream Media) Newspaper journalists who don't check their facts, and think people will swallow any bull they come up with. He is just as respectful towards our dearest politicians, who we know only look after our best interests! and are as we all know are as honest as the day is long. (Yeah I know I don't do sarcasm very well) PLease just go and read his site, look at the Polly Toynbee posts to get an idea of what I mean.

So I found DK, and he led me to others, and I found a world of hidden politics, a world of people with different ideas and agendas, different political leanings but who were all commited to telling the truth, something the MSM does no longer appear to do!

I know reading back on what I have posted so far, it seems to be an advert for DK, but I do not agree with all that he says, but about the EU he has me convinced! He tells it as it is, no holds barred no punches pulled, and as with others in the blogosphere, anyone can comment on his site, can argue the toss, put your own point over, and again as with others he will engage and explain, and if doesn't know the answer he will find out who does.

After finding out the truth, and reading other peoples sites, other peoples ideas, I have come to the conclusion that UKIP get my vote!

For as DK has eloquently put it "in this post" we do not actually need the EU as much as it needs us!

When will Tony Blair actually start to learn, that new laws are not needed. All that is needed is a willingness to act on the laws we already have in place!

After the shameful killings of the past week, Teflon Tone, has again espoused the idea of, Yeah you guessed it more laws. Just for once Tony get your head outta your ass and let the Police use the laws that are in place! Get them away from their desks filling in governmental endless "target led" forms, that could perhaps be work for the plastic policemen that you have created.
Put Policemen out on the street, doing what they are supposed to be doing "protecting the public", solving crimes, and by that I mean real crimes, not handing out Fixed Penalty Notices to gobby teenagers!

"Mr Blair has told the BBC he is considering criminalising gang membership" Well coming from the leader of one of the biggest gangs, ie the Labour Party I think thats a bit rich! After all we all, and I do mean all belong to some sort of gang, albeit political or social. Members of the Squash Club/Sailing Club/Drama Group, are they not merely a civilized or grown up sort of gang, we as humans all like to belong to something. To be a part of something that we feel kinship with. Anyone over 35 who has had a normal childhood, will have been part of either the street gang, or a part of a gang in some form.

What is worrying is that the legislation when and if it comes, will be so ambiguous, that the societies and clubs that most law abiding people subscribe to will come under any new laws remit.

As has been said by many people more educated than my self, "Lawyers do not make good Laws". Indeed, Edmund Burke has pointed out that men skilled in legal technicalities are not in the habit of taking broad views in the making of a law. They look more to its letter than to its spirit.

I cannot agree more with the statement and I cannot fault the reasoning behind its publication by Unity.
